The more this issue goes the more I believe it's a work. There are still no reports from WWE.

WWE is in the midst of one of the most eventful weeks in years – and the company’s existing storyline plans through WrestleMania could be scrapped entirely by Friday night.

WWE has called for all-day creative meetings on Thursday and Friday, according to a report by Wade Keller of PWTorch.com. A source says that “nothing is sacred” in terms of long-standing booking plans plans and “everything will be reevaluated.”

The roller coaster ride began on Sunday night when it became apparent to fans that Daniel Bryan would not be part of the Royal Rumble match. The strong negative reaction to Batista winning the Rumble, Daniel Bryan’s continuing popularity growth and the shocking departure of CM Punk from the company are all being cited as reasons for the shakeup.

We’ll have more details on this story later in the week, but it appears that things are going to get even more interesting by the time the week is over.

Is it safe to say that WWE is flat out panicking now?.

It's sounding like there's a lot of turmoil with their plans for the annual Road to Wrestlemania, but I don't know if they'd truly be panicking. It's not like they're on the verge of bankruptcy or have any legitimate competition.

Impact doesn't air here until tomorrow, guys. C'mon.

(Although 411 spoiled it for me hours ago, but still.)

Does it really matter whether there's competition or not? The network includes all 12 PPVs, locks you in for six months at a time, and has enough archive footage to keep the smarter fans happy with it even if they don't watch any of the current content. They've essentially made their income booking-proof, because the same amount of money is going to come in whether their current TV product is good or not. They're still going to have their weekly TV shows, but the only people who can influence ratings are those with Nielsen boxes. You can't buy a PPV because Danielson is main eventing, you can't cancel the Network for this month because Danielson isn't main eventing.

that's a good point being brought up. instead of allowing fans to order PPVs a la carte and picking the ones they wanna watch, they get locked into a subscription and wind up paying for PPVs they might not want or enjoy. perhaps it'll mask how badly some of these PPV buy numbers have been

sounds like shit is hitting the fan at the WWE. They might actually give in to the fans' desires, but watch them make DB drop the belt the next week or at the next PPV

At the same time, it'll also be much cheaper than ordering every PPV in the current model. The WWE Network doesn't have too many drawbacks for fans compared to the current options.

...well that certainly lends credence to the argument about Punk's departure being a work.

By the look of things, they're starting breakup angles for The Shield, The Brotherhood, the Prime Time Players, and the Real Americans. Did they realise they'd accidentally ended up with a tag division?

watched the end of the National Pro Wrestling Day stream, and WTF?? lol First, Chikara comes back in a double cross main even interference.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... nLc#t=7056
For a summation via Reddit
For people confused, (and i don't blame you because i could barely hear Jimmy Jacobs either) all the bad guys came out including The BDK, Gekido, and Dr Cube and his minions, Icarus and the Colony and some others came out as well. However their numbers were far fewer and therefore it would have been dumb to try and take everyone on. However Icarus had a surprise up his sleeve and revealed that all of Cube's minions were actually Chikara alumni in disguise, brawl ensues. Meanwhile Archibald Peck and 3.0 arrive from the future in a DeLorean because why not.

Then there was a 5v5 bonus Chikara match, because reasons. All that matters is a 10-man suplex and for shadow HYPNOSIS.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... nLc#t=9133

I have no idea what I just watched, but I was entertained for sure.

i don't tihnk so. this is the most interesting the tag division has been since Tyson Kidd & Bulldog's son were champs and it's a shame that they're breaking it all up. I guess what's left of the divsion then would be NAO, matadors, and usos and maybe truth/woods

Probably one of his best promos. Kind of a shame it wasn't on TV.

I hate that a lot of times they think it's more interesting to turn people face/heel or break up teams than to keep a food thing going

Everything has a shelf life and each of the guys in The Shield has a good shot at having success in singles. The problem is, they seem to be breaking up a lot of tag teams at once, rather than staggering that process and getting some more mileage out of some of those teams.

I don't think any of them have reached their shelf life yet. Cody and Goldust have apparently wanted a singles match at WrestleMania for years, so that one slides. They may even just go with enough of a rivalry to justify a match, without preventing them from teaming post-Mania.

The PTP is the one that bugs me the most; I don't think they ever went far enough as a team for me to care about either of them individually.

I think The Shield could certainly go on longer, but at the same time they've been around long enough that you could consider breaking them up...especially if there's true intent on pushing them as singles in the mid to upper card, as rumoured. The Prime Time Players split definitely seems out of left field though, I certainly agree there.

I don't get TNA. They went to all the effort of making the Wolves' theme a blatant knockoff of their ROH theme...without a wolf howling at the start. Y'know, the most important bit.
