Well, it would be somewhat difficult to include matches featuring wrestlers that won't be appearing in the game.

Sure, but what exactly is stopping them from putting different wrestlers in the game if they wanted to have different matches?

I imagine on some level these guys are getting paid, no?

They are indeed. There's also the matter of their willingness to appear, the WWE's willingness for them to be included, what kind of money they were asking for in relation to their marketability, etc.

That might appeal to anyone who grew up with the wrestlers from 20-25 years go but they're also selling the game to people who watch the current product.

Evidently you can use existing superstar faces for CAWs, which is awesome, but I'm not really sold.

I believe so. From memory, you can set all the participants in a Royal Rumble, if you just wanted to include the old school wrestlers.

Seems like WM27 is so forgettable they had the Miz-Cena match in.

i am not that against the roster though i really wish they would stop including more than 1 of a character

Different entrances, music, movesets and the like make it difficult for some of the retro versions of wrestlers to simply be alternate attire.

And an alt attire takes up just as much space, so it really doesn't matter.

alt attire wont randomly roll for an event like the royal rumble though. if you just hit random you might see the undertaker 3 times. there are so many duplicates that you cant hit random unless there is a way to lock a character from ever being selected

Then it'll be like the 1998 Royal Rumble, when Mick Foley came out three separate times as Mankind, Dude Love and Cactus Jack.

I imagine you're in the big minority here (as am I, unfortunately, as I would love to just be Perfectplexing people all over the place, and see a Damian appearance). That being said though, aside from Roberts vs. Taker WM8, I can't think of a big WrestleMania moment for either of the other two; maybe my memory's just escaping me. Rude vs. Warrior WM5 I have no recollection of ever seeing even in classic films.

my favorite mr perfect match was against brutas the barber at 6? i cant really pin a great wrestlemania match with rude, i guess the one with the warrior would have to be his best? i really liked him in 6 against snuka but i cant call that iconic.

really these 3 are not known for wrestlemania moments, they were however the glue for all non ppv shows. these were the tops guys every saturday morning for anyone growing up in that time

Perfect had a pretty good match with Owen Hart (as the Blue Blazer) at Wrestlemania V, but there's no way Martha Hart would allow them to include him. That's a shame, as it would've allowed for Bret vs Owen from Wrestlemania X as well.

There's no guarantee that next year's game will have all the legends, so if you don't want it to sit on the shelf in the meantime, perhaps you could pick it up cheaper in a few months' time.
