Yes on the uncomfortable part since I decided to do a "stress test" on them hours ago. Did a "walkathon" of sorts going back home. But later on it feels like my old Puma Cat Camo, only stiffer under the feet.

How does a controller as big as the 360 one fit in a cup filled with water? Wii controllers, I can understand, but 360 controller? And how can you know the difference between Y and A in your controller when both buttons look the same!

Hard drives always have an "extra" filled out, something to do with its file system as far as I can remember.

My laptop has 500 GB, but I can use just 449. Over 15 is a recovery drive with the back-up files. There are three in total and it still comes up to about 465.

No, it's the manufacturer versus software. Software considers 1024 megabytes to be a gigabyte. Manufacturers consider 1000 megabytes to be a gigabyte. That's why you get "less."

Still doesn't explain my friend's 80 GB iPod Video only having 61 GB. :?

That's kinda weird. I think that should be 75 GB.

That is because he illustrated it in megabytes, not in gigabytes. So, adding it up...

80 x 1000 X 1000 x 1000 = 80,000,000,000 bytes = 80Gb as stated on the package.

80,000,000,000 divided by (1024 * 1024 *1024) comes out to 74.

This is confusing stuff that they should have gotten rid of years ago. The hardware and OS access data in multiples of 2 anyway. This is further compounded on machines/devices that need to have a master boot record (MBR) on storage that is never recorded as used space. I was scratching my head over the same thing when my new Ipad was reporting 14Gb instead of 16Gb, when the OS is just about 500mb.

I think Stress Fracture was referring to z02's friend's 80 GB ipod only having 61 GB of available space (presumably before loading anything on it); as you showed it should be 74 GB, making SF's guess of 75 GB fairly accurate.

As for me, a Nokia X6:

Not really a purchase per se, at least the phone itself. I went into a Vodafone store as I was having some phone issues which turned out to be a faulty sim card, which they replaced. While I was there they mentioned a new plan that included my choice out of a few different smartphones free along with $180 of credit per month and 200 MB of data. Since the plan was the same as I was already paying for $130 of credit (and no data) per month and I liked the idea of a new phone, I decided to go ahead with it. The catch of course is signing up for another two years but there was also a deal going for $10 off the first 12 months of the contract so I figured sure, why not.

oops, I was explaning the exact same thing to someone else. But theirs had some other stuff loaded. I got it mixed up. My bad. I really try to stay away from MAC stuff, once I had to fix my nephew's mac book, It really is a strange OS for me even if I know Unix/Linux. Fiddling with the Ipad is no picnic either. Jailbreak is a real pain in the ass, but hopefully I can borrow my nephews macbook and try to make some homebrew stuff and run on it.

Was thinking about getting the X6 myself, symbian seems like a solid phone OS. I've been on symbian the last 7 years. Too bad it seems like Nokia is going to abandon symbian. I am feeling a bit adventurous, so I think I am getting the droid 2 soon.

yeah, we did that. It wasn't a huge deal though, seeing as three years later, he still has it only about 20% full. :D
