Also added are catapult finishers, which are similar to the catch finishers of last year (which still also remain in the game) but now you can do them on offensive side instead of the defensive side. I did both The Rock's and Shawn Michaels' catapult finishers, which look incredible. They are very easy to pull off, pressing LB/L1 then pressing Y/Triangle while they are in the air. There are 10 new ones, and everyone who had a catch finisher last year has a catapult finisher this year. This new addition will come in handy when you know your opponent has a finisher stored as they will have to think twice about just barreling after you.

The OMG moves, which was a big inclusion last year, has also been updated. Seven new OMG moves were added, including character specific ones. We were shown the DDT on the ring apron, ring post boot from the outside and a character specific on in John Cena performing a two wrestler Attitude Adjustment which leads to both wrestlers taking significant damage. As seen in the first trailer, Ryback can do a double shellshock. Also, we were told that a double choke slam is in the game as well.

One of the little changes I saw is there is now a hesitation to running instead of immediately entering into a full sprint. Other things I noticed are animations look better, and wrestlers will now fidget (grab their wrist tape, mini-taunt, or motion to the opponent) through a match.

One word which kept coming from Cory Ledesma and the Ultimate Warrior which rang true throughout the presentation and interviews was "fun". They are striving for a true to life presentation of a WWE event, but keeping it fun for the player as well. From the demo we saw at the preview event, 2K has succeeded at that so far.

Not sold just yet...
Opinions are my own.

Honestly I'd be sold if they told me they revamped the AI. Playing '13 a couple of days ago again, it's just soo .. bleh.

We're talking about something that, in real life, is sometimes scripted down to every last move, and the AI in this game can't even think one step ahead. I wanna see the AI set up a table and actually have a plan what to do with that table.

I get the game every year as I do the basketball games so I was going to pick it up regardless, but all that sounds awesome.

i wasn't a fan of the catapult SCM in the trailer. I think it should be limited to people like Randy Orton

I played that and really enjoyed it for the nostalgia. Gameplay sucked ass. but at the time, the Smackdown games were pretty weak with legends and i wanted to play as my favorite wrestlers growing up like owen hart, mr. perfect, bret hart, british bulldog, etc.

I thought Legends of Wrestlemania was OK for what it was and it was an interesting idea to try and go old school with the controls, mixed in with quicktime events, but it really would've been better if they'd just added the historical content to the Smackdown games or used that control scheme in LoW.

Gameplay Improvements

NEW NAVIGATION SYSTEM

The entire navigation system has been overhauled and reanimated including all walking, running, and dragging motions to give the game a more fluid and life-like feel and look.

Overall Superstar movement has been accelerated, meaning the action is faster-paced and more like what you see on WWE television.

There is now a "starting up" animation for when Superstars begin running. This leads to a more natural-looking match, where it is more difficult to "spam" running attacks.

Animation gestures have been added such as adjusting wrist bands, motioning for your opponent to get up, and many more to give a human-like appearance to the navigation system.

STRIKING CHANGES

Strikes and strike combos are now quicker and snappier, making them faster and harder to reverse.

Successfully landing a strike combo now puts your opponent in a groggy state, making groggy grapples appear earlier and more frequently.

REVERSAL SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

Reversing a grapple move now causes the reverser to do a move of his/her own automatically.

This cuts down on the endless back-and-forth "reversal fest" some users complained of in WWE '13 while also making the match move faster.

CATAPULT FINISHERS

Catching Finishers can now be executed offensively, by Irish Whipping your opponent to the ropes with a finisher stored or catapulting your opponent up when they run towards you.

Select finisher moves give you the ability to launch an opponent into the air and then hit them with a Catch Finisher on the way back down.

NEW OMG MOMENTS

New multi-man OMG Moments added to help you gain the upper-hand in multi-man matches. One OMG move can take out two opponents in one shot making it easier to get the win against multiple opponents.

Double Attitude Adjustment

Double Shellshock

Double Chokeslam

New OMG Moments added to allow you to dole out even more damage using the ring environment.

Boot-to-head on outside ringpost

DDT on the apron

TWO-COUNTS

One of the most reviled bugs in WWE '13 was the dearth of two-counts. This issue has been addressed, bringing back the dramatic near falls you know and love.

All sounds pretty good to me. Additionally, the roster is expected to be announced over Summerslam weekend.

THQ's bankruptcy and the disarray it no doubt caused behind the scenes might have something to do with it. I assume they'll be bringing the game to next gen starting to next year.

I don't think Rick Rude has been confirmed as yet, but we're still awaiting the full roster reveal so you never know.

rick rude is one of the most under rated performers imo. would love to see him in the game. gotta admit though these last couple days i have started to wonder if i should even get the game. i am not sure how much time i will have to fit it in. with gta5 in september and nba 2k and watch dogs once the ps4 launches plus all the games i just bought from steam sale/humble i dont know if there will be time for wwe2k14. i could always wait a year and hope for the characters i like to show up on next gen or just buy this one used in 6 months. either way i lose out on the warrior.

odd thing about the warrior. read a preview for the game where the guy got to talk to the warrior and by what he said the warrior really does sound like a dick. i have avoided reading/listening to him after his career ended so all i ever had to go by way shit i heard here but the more i hear about him the less i like him. clearly a guy who has no passion at all for the business

I saw some video of the Warrior in real life talking about some conspiracy theory crap as the host for some small presentation. It was laughable.

I agree that while this is a bit intriguing with the old school wrestlers, with GTA V, Live 14, and steam games I bought, I probably won't have much interest to play it unless it gets amazing reviews, and even then , it won't be until it sells for cheap.

I'd rather get this game when it becomes $40 after Christmas as well with other games I plan to buy. Not worth the money to buy at release.

Yeah, that one's been well-known for years. ;) He burned a lot of bridges, which is why he hasn't been featured in too many games as a legend or shown up on WWF/E television.
