I remember that. The Hardcore Division/Title had a decent run in 98/99 and the 24/7 rule was entertaining at first but at the same time it also pretty much jumped the shark at that point.

Indeed, long before Vince had Cole pegged for a Unified Heavyweight Championship run.

I think the head gimmick comes from ECW.

Speaking of unifications, weren't the WWE and World title supposed to be unified at Mania 27?
We didn't even come near that

Correct, that's where he started it.

I can't imagine a unified World/WWE Championship. It means just Cena and Orton feuding for the damn title.

That's a good point, having the two titles at least allows a few other faces to be in the mix even if the belts do find their way back to Cena and Orton in the end. Still, as I've said before now might be an idea to end the brand split with the roster depleted by the retirement/semi-retirement of several veteran main eventers, joint PPVs and the idea of wrestlers and commentators being exclusive to a brand pretty much ancient history at this point. It's a more viable option than it was a few years back, though it doesn't look like anything's imminent.

And that is why they need to elevate the young guys more now and not just focus on Cena or Orton. They have talented workers in the roster that I believe deserved to be at least in the main event(Daniel Bryan comes to mind) but WWE is not taking the risks on those guys.

That was some sad news to wake up to. Maybe he'll finally get the Hall of Fame nod, just a shame he won't be able to accept it and favour us with what probably would have been a very entertaining acceptance speech. RIP.

I wouldn't place too much stock in that rumour, it's never been confirmed and is just one theory as to why Savage has been blacklisted in WWE. More likely, it's due to an incident that Bret Hart recounted in his book where Savage made the jump to WCW and phoned up Vince at 4 AM, drunk, to break the news to him. My guess is that something was said in that conversation - or the mere fact he jumped ship abruptly and called Vince up in the early hours of the morning in an inebriated state to tell him - which led to the falling out and resulting bad blood.

However, the fact remains that he wasn't on the best of terms with Vince and no doubt that's what's been holding him out of the Hall of Fame. My point is that perhaps with his passing, Vince will soften on his stance and see fit to induct him posthumously; a shame it's come to that but sadly it's far from unprecedented in the world of professional wrestling.

there is so much talk about vince not letting randy into the hall of fame, maybe he was the one that wanted no part in the wwe? personally i hope thats it cause it would be a huge shame if vince was so petty as to refuse the fans (that made him and his buisness what it is today) from seeing something they truely want and deserve to see and that allowing the macho man into the HOF. of course we are already robbed of the satisfaction of seeing him up there on stage and being able to witness the final performance of the macho man
