I read in some article that Australia went for 4-6-0 formation, focusing on D. The coach needs to be fired.

Ghana I thought were pretty solid. Though nothing Germans can't handle. Isn't the German team the most solid team that remains to be unbeaten in group matches for a long long period?

Well it was surprising because Ghana had to deals with all those injuries before the start of the WC. You have Essien and Muntari, definitely the two best players on their squad, who could not play in the first games (and for Essien won't play in the games to come.

Their goalkeeper is a risk in every game since he can't handle crosses which will definitely cause problems against Germany.

For me Group D is a two class society with the Germans being in the first class alone. Ghana, Serbia and Australia are almost on the same level.

I'd rate Ghana a little higher than that, perhaps in between.

Anyways, what a fucking joke again. Sweden just scored on their own net. :shake:

No worries, just slap yourself 10 times.

Japan beat Cameroon 1-0. The weakest team beating a quality team. Though Cameroon imo played a better soccer, it don't mean anything if it don't translate to wins... Disappointing so far on African teams while Asian teams have been impressive in exception of Aussies.

African teams only have 1 win, and it was by a penalty with barely a few minutes left in the game.

Hoping (but not expecting) for a win tonight for the All Whites (New Zealand). Any result would be nice, but a win is what I want :P

We pulled it out in the last minute for a 1-1 draw. Go All Whites!!! We were outclassed but never gave up & kept our formation & stayed patient & for that I applaud them :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

I thought a draw was a fair result because Slovakia was happy to play negative & win the game 1-1. What kind of team doesn't go for the kill against a minnow like New Zealand?!?

Either way, the boys have done me & the rest of New Zealand proud

Wow, what a finish to the game. Smeltz was pretty ineffective for most of the match but that cross was great. Good for the Kiwis. (Y)
But if they make as many mistakes against Italy or Paraguay as they did today they may be in for a tough time.

Agreed that they might struggle against others but anything is possible.

As far as Smeltz goes, he didn't get enough ball/service to do anything. Hopefully he gets more of a chance in next 2 games, although given calibre of opponents, may not be likely.

Spain's loss is probably the biggest upset of the WC so far.

Not even surprised that we lost 0-2 against the Mexicans. Stupid retard of a coach and his stupid ass selection of overpaid douchebags. Pathetic...
