From what I've read, there are some DLCs that should be released soon ("Jimmy's Vendetta"), so I guess I'll keep it on my drive once I'm done with it (I usually uninstall any game right after I'm done with it).

I'm happy with the game so far. I was a little disappointed at first, but once you realize it's definitely not a GTA set in in the 40's-50's, but a pretty linear game that just happens to have a huge map, it's much easier to take the story for what it is and appreciate the characters and various references.

There are two DLC's with Jimmy I think, one is PS3 exclusive.

Cracking walkthroughs! :X

Aaaaanyway...

The game's fan Wiki had reported rumors about a DLC featuring Joe:

Mafia Wiki wrote:It is also rumoured that there will also be a DLC that revolves around Joe Barbaro known as Joe's Adventures, due to text deep in the game text files.

If this is true I assume that the DLC's plot setting would either be during Vito's time in prison or right after the end of the game.

Nevertheless Joe's character did really gave color to the game.

Well if you've played the first Mafia game, Thomas Angelo makes a cameo, thus revealing Vito and Joe as the contract killers the Salieri family contacted to whack Tommy.

I'm sad to know about this. The game took long enough time before being released and all we got is not even half of what was planned. I clearly remember the Christmas gameplay video.

A 2GB DLC perhaps? :shake:

And it really feels like it when playing it again. I'm doing my second playthrough right now, and it's hard not to feel like there's a lot of waste when you see the (mostly) gorgeous environments that they've created. You drive by a bunch of places and you're like "that could have been such a cool place for a side mission"...
I know the game is not be taken as a GTA in the 40's/50's, but since most of the game mechanisms are completely identical, and given the way they've promoted the game before its release (advertising the city as more "alive" than in GTA IV for example), it's just impossible not to compare both games. And with that in mind it feels like a colossal waste to have crafted such a detailed world and to only use a fraction of it. The game is fun as it is, but it could have seriously been one of the best sandbox games ever. Meeting a bunch a NPCs, going on side-missions, buying and selling more stuff...all of that should have been present in my opinion.
And it doesn't look like the DLCs are helping much so far...

If you are looking for a 40s-50s GTA in Mafia 2, look somewhere else... I haven't seen any big secondary missions besides the Playboy mags and the wanted posters.

From the link Lean posted wrote:Denby Grace, the Senior Producer of the upcoming hype train Mafia II confirmed that at one point the story actually had four endings. During an interview with IGTV Denby said:

“We had four multiple endings at one point in the game, and then we looked at it and we had one really outstanding great ending to end our story, we just said ‘You know what? Let’s just ditch these other endings, this is the ending everyone wants’ and that’s one thing we’re happy with making that choice.”

I hated the ending. :|

For all that accounts I really think this game would have been heaps better if all of the said missions are in-game. Heck there is even a race mission -- probably why the race outfit DLC came in.

...on a second thought, probably all outfit DLCs are related to the removed missions. :shake:
