This thread is hilarious.

Damn bro thats a lot of points. If you need help in handling just take 2 basketballs and dribble them with your both hands at the same time.
And try hangtime when going to basket cause i mostly do that (If you jump high then i suggest hangtime but if no then don't even try). My coach told me about it and I tired it and it works. Use for your layups. I usally like getting contact and I do very quick moves and fakes when i go to the basket. Coach taught us very quick moves.Try some behind the back moves and stuff like that cause i bet you if you do that in a month, you'll be super quick and a very good handler.

Thu Jun 26, 2008 3:55 am

buzzy, nah, I don't rely on them, just telling them. :P

kevC, and what's wrong with the thread ?

MadNice, thanks. I don't need help on handling. I can dribble with two balls, good to practise, I can do 'two balls between the legs' and so on. About hangtime, I really don't have it, so I basically use my quickness.

Thu Jun 26, 2008 4:39 am

Yeah you know in my thread i was asking on how to become a better shooter and lamrock. said please die and el badman wrote something very stupid and how the fuck is this thread hilarious. Anyway lol at the 'two balls between the legs' .

Sun Jun 29, 2008 8:26 pm

Sounds like one long pickup game, unless there wasn't much defense involved.

buzzy wrote:haha, we fuck up the score while playing every time. And that in games until 11 or 21 points. We're like "What's the score?" - "Dunno"

I can't even imagine counting properly in a game until 200 points :o

Same sentiment as buzzy.

Oskar's bullshite meter is starting to fluctuate, me thinks.

Sun Jun 29, 2008 9:34 pm

Back in the sixth grade, a friend and I had a marathon, fullcourt one-on-one game that lasted a couple of hours in the morning of a half-day teacher's strike. My friend beat me, scoring 103 points in the process.

Mon Jun 30, 2008 2:43 am

shadowgrin, so you don't believe anything I say ? Me, myself, I don't count the score, I always mess it, but a friend of mine always does. He always reads it. And what's wrong with scoring 100 points out of 200 ? Its half of the points, but yeah, it's nice that I am a scoring PG, but I can set up my teammates. Still, I have many mistakes etc. " Bullshite meter " :/

Andrew, haha. That must have been a very long game.

Even though not many people like this tread, thought about saying some stuff about last few days.

Two days ago, I hurt my knee very much. Think I scored like 50 points out of teams' 70, but there wasn't practically other scorers on my team. We lost big time.

Today, with still a little hurt in my knee, I scored around 70 points out of 200, had around 25 assists.

If these stats look so silly to you, then it's 2 on 2, and no, I'm not like very proud of them, I'd like to score, etc etc and do everything to perfection. My knee will probably be alright after few days, it hurts when I'm having the defensive position or when I'm jumping for a rebound, block, jumpshot or w/e.

Mon Jun 30, 2008 3:13 am

I'd take it easy on your knee if it's hurting. As with any injury or ailment, if it isn't better in a few days or has gotten worse you might want to get it checked out.

Mon Jun 30, 2008 4:17 am

honestly there's no real point of keeping stats if you're playing like 2 on 2 up to a certain amount of points. it's easy to get assists if you're the only teammate of the guy you're passing to. if you like keeping stats, the only real stat you can use is probably FG% and FT% and even fg% will be skewed because of the fewer defenders.

Mon Jun 30, 2008 4:31 am

Counting assists on a 2-on-2 game? I think it'd be better if four of you guys ran drills and practiced more though. Shooting drills, defense drills... It's a lot more fun than spending hours of 2-on-2 full court basketball and then hurting yourself. (Y)

Holy hell, what I just dug out. Great, I should edit the OP and write the weaknesses I actually had - off-hand, atrocious shot, turnovers, ability to get blocked, hoping to get too far doing the least etcetera. Funny how I said I was a good ball handler, but I .. Yeah, curious how I could say anything about my good sides if I hadn't played against real competition yet, funny, funny, funny.. And the part about all the elbows and dirty playing someone brought up and I said it's not boxing, haha, now I'm like a boxer on the court at times myself, against real competition, that is. Or atleast something more close to real competition. Yeah, but it's nice I wrote it down, because damn man, have I grown and improved in just 1½ year. Haha, this is truely hilarious..

But dude, this should go to the hardwood classics, I'd be proud of myself !

I'd love to contribute but your avi is keeping me from forming a thought.

There's no contribution needed no more, I just happened to bump an 1½ year old thread that I started. An attempt of blogging how I'm improving, and it's hilarious to see it now. At the same time, though, it's great to see what I've improved at, there's definitely a little something something, hehe.

rofl... i am liking this thread

So how much of a better pg have you become since then.

Re: Oskar - developing to a better PG

Wed Dec 23, 2009 4:26 pm

Personal highlights:

Oskar shooting 5/4 from three
Oskar counting stats in his head and posting them as averages (lol)
Oskar beating an 11 year old in one on one and bragging about it
Oskar saying you don't get elbowed in the kidneys or kneed in the balls in basketball
Indy saying he coaches a team and doesn't give a shit about free throws

Oskar saying all of that when he hasn't experienced any real competition prior to making this thread.

Long story, I don't like speaking about my accomplishments on internet that much anymore, haha. You know why, this thread sucks for me..

Jae, btw, I really did count my stats, they weren't really accurate though, but I tried to write something down at home because I had two good pickup games in a row at that time, oh jeez, rofl.. (the pickup games probably lasted a couple hours and I was mad happy 'cause I had scored 40 pts).

Continueing with what Jae and shadow started, though -
Oskar 'asking for help' while actually trying to make himself look like Jashaun Agosto.

Since we're all humiliating him, and he seems up for it:
Oskar wrote:Good skills:

50% is abysmal. Anything below 75 is bad, anything below 85 is bad for a guard.

Good penetration.

ORLY?

I get pushed around easily by bigger men.

Is this before or after the penetration?

I have hit only 1-3 shots from behind mid-court in my life.

As if it matters.

The way you define 'humiliating' sounds quite odd to me. I'm not up for 'humiliating' myself the way you put it, just a little laugh over what or how I was quite a while ago. I was barely 13 at that time, give it a break.

Re: Oskar - developing to a better PG

Well yes, humiliating was somewhat hyperbole, but it was the closest word I could think of.

Besides, I had to set up for taking a couple of your sentences way out of context somehow.

Yeah, I noticed that, no biggie.

No humiliation intended. All in good fun. Most if not every forum member have these kinds of early/old posts that you can do nothing but laugh if you're the original poster.
