I wonder if there is anything global to these temperature drops. For the past few weeks in California, it's been in the 90s and 100s. Just yesterday it turned cloudy. Still warm, but I went outside early this morning and there was a light sprinkle of rain. Quick global cooling, anyone?

freeze warning for crops tomorrow night. Got to 35 here last night. Leaves are already turning color too.

yeah on saturday or sunday it rained lightly for a good 30-45 mins in the morning while i was at work and completely dried up by the afternoon and the 2 days before it was in the 90s. last week there was hail in Costa Mesa

I reckon it's just a coincidence but here our longest streak ever of 80+ degree days (9, lol) was snapped by a few overcast days in the low sixties.
To talk about my problems:
Today has been a better day. Woke early again but I at least got 5 or 6 hours and this time I wasn't panicking nor did I puke up what little of last night's dinner I could stomach. And in shockingly good news, I actually managed to get a job today, which will hopefully go well and help get things back on track.

I'm in a farken good mood this morning. Haven't felt this good in a long, long time

EDIT: Spoke too soon, wife is doing her best to ruin it.
EDIT #2: My 16 month old daughter is helping to keep the mood going

Last century we called it Fall or Autumn.
Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:43 am
Yeah, we haven't had a fall our autumn in years.
Our union just gave 72 hours notice to the grocery companies that they are not going to accept the latest contract offer. We may strike as early as Sunday.

Good stuff.

It's true. For the first half of the summer, it was above 80 degrees for all of twelve minutes total.

I'm down with cough and colds, and ultimately missed church as I woke up late.

Got my phone bill today and it was double my usual plan amount. Turns out I went way over on combined data usage and "social Internet". It's pretty annoying because it doesn't feel like I've used it any more than usual. I've bought a song or two off iTunes, but I've downloaded full albums in previous months... Plus I haven't even touched skype on my phone for about 2 months.

Currently trying to squeeze more battery life out of my new sixth generation iPod nano by making sure I switch it off and not just let it go into standby mode, since it apparently takes 36 hours on standby before it switches itself off automatically. I've been looking into the issue with Google bringing up some tips from the Apple forums, so here's hoping.
It also yielded several posts of Apple fanboys telling people to stop complaining about the issues because everything is in fact perfect and they should just enjoy their wonderful product (paraphrasing an actual quote here). Now, even as a PC user I can appreciate what Apple does and obviously I do use one of their products, but some of the posts I found might just be definitive proof that Apple has officially become a cult.

What kind of plan are you on?
Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:31 pm
It's called the Yes 79 plan. It's a post-paid one with free local texts texts and a certain amount worth of calls... but since I don't make many calls at all, I doubt I'd even come close to that limit. I pay an extra amount in insurance, so it ends up being about 90 a month (which in my book is ridiculous as it is, considering my previous plan was 30 a month). My bill ended up being 200 for the month, so I'm going to try and cut down using Facebook and Twitter on my phone, as well as any graphic intensive browsing and see how I go. Also use Wifi around the house as much as I can. I still have a bit of money in the bank, so I was able to pay the bill, but it's definitely not an amount of money I want to fork out just for browsing the internet.

No doubt. I'm currently on a $29 cap with Vodafone (paying $10 insurance but getting $10 off per month for the first 12 months). It includes $180 credit and 200 MB of data, with free data for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc. Still using prepaid for my business mobile since I receive more calls than I make on it.

Do you own your phone outright or are you paying it off? Because I'm currently paying off my iPhone, so that's probably why I have such a steep bill.

Had a weird dream where I browsed the nlsc forums and every posts I viewed were arranged in an orderly manner like a spreadsheet.
I don't know what's the more troubling, dreaming about the nlsc or dreaming about spreadsheets.
I've decided not to view any spreadsheets for now.

Got it on a two year contract.

Yep, I'm on Vodafone too. $29 plan with HTC Legend phone for free. First 6 months is $19 per month. I get an additonal 10% saving on this plan.
Sat Sep 24, 2011 4:55 pm
That's something I need to do I think. To be honest, I've had enough of iPhones. It was fun for the first year or so, but with the additional charges and the lack of reliability with the phone itself, it's just not worth it.

I thought about that one when I was looking at the phones that were available with the plan, but opted to go with the Nokia X6 since I've always had Nokias. Not the best smartphone out there of course, even in the Nokia range, but it gets the job done and I like it.
What kind of coverage do you get with Vodafone? They've made a bunch of upgrades to their network but I still find I don't have reception in areas where friends on Telstra and Optus at least get a bar or two. I'd say they've become a bit more reliable than they used to be, for a while I was thinking of switching to another provider but liked them enough to sign up for the two year contract and get the new phone back in March.
