Where abouts in the game did you go to edit playbooks individually?

That's one thing my experience with this game lacks. Any real stratergy. Offensively i mostly score off 1-on-1 possessions. (Though sometimes i use that dual pass button or whatever. A bit too effective maybe) Apart from pick and rolls, i never run any plays on the fly. It's not really the game's fault, just the way i play it. I need to look more into plays.

Anyways i'm interested.

I think it's in the same place you edit rosters... it says Playbooks or something, you can see a little 2D model of how the plays run so it's easy to fix it up.

Ah yeah, i see it. I don't really know what i'm doing though.

What is there to edit? It shows a bunch of plays, and you decide which ones you want on the d-pad.

Yeah, every team has the default plays assigned to them. Pick and roll, isolation etc... what I did was give them 4 plays that would end in their star guy taking the shot... like the Clippers have 4 PF plays, and when I played them the ball went to Brand constantly.

i think the teams do more than just the standard quick plays assigned to them, i started my association without touching any of the other teams playbooks and ive seen them do quite a few different plays other than quick screen, pick and roll, quick post up, and isolation

Yeah I've seen the same done...

Is scoring ~70 points per game in the paint realistic?

With mine, all of the teams pretty much ran the same plays. Every game the PG and SF would be the top scorers with no exceptions. It could be slider related... but now that I've changed up the playbooks they do run plays specifically for their main players.

Nah I don't think you can... the tendancy sliders far outweigh the playbooks though, like if your outside shooting sliders are high then even if you set all C plays for teams, 8 times out of 10 the SG/SF is just going to shoot it from 3. It's pretty hard finding a balance (N)

@jugs i always score loads of points in the paint-around 70 yeah, i doubt it's realistic but it's pretty much the only way i can score(without it being boring)

Damn, just played my third last game of preseason againt Seattle, it was a blow out. I know it was just a preseason game but LeBron had 30 points(10/20 shooting),12 boards, 10 assists, and 7 blocks, thats the closest ive ever been to a quadruple double.

tripplemrox, I know its easy to just do pick and rolls and score in the paint and such, but try and force yourself to shoot more midrange shots. I usualy try to get less than 50% of my points from in the paint.

Now that in another thread there started a discussion about this game's hidden dunks, how about trying to list them here as well?

I've once pulled the rock-the-cradle by accident, never knew how I did it

edit. found the 360, similar to Live's dunk contest, simply rotate the shot stick 360 degrees before takeoff. The 360 dunk animation is rather sucky in my opinion :?

This is what I came up with:

Moving the analog stick...
Left=Two-Handed Windmill(fuck, why did they have to take the one-hand windmill out (N) ), sometimes a cradle dunk

Right=One handed dunk with the right hand like "the Lister Blister" or LeBron's skywalker dunk

Right+about a 45 degree rotation=360 dunk (let go of turbo and it equals a 360 layup)

Up=a tomohawk, sometimes a one handed tomohawk or regular two/one handed dunk

Down=a reverse dunk, a regular reverse dunk for average dunkers and a double pump reverse for good dunkers

Down going baseline=1 handed baseline reverse dunk

Up going to the basket at an angle, almost underneath it=2 handed baseline reverse

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Hey does anyone know if you can import draft classes from the NCAA version for NBA 2k6. If not, will you be able to do this for NBA 2k7 and NCAA 2k7?

Yes you can import draft classes, my personal favourite dunk is the baseline reverse windmill, Kobe has done it a couple times during the regular season(in real life), but i also like a couple of the power dunks that you get by pushing the stick to the right.

Where is this video tutorial you speak of TBD? I don't know if we have it in the PAL version because I can't find it anywhere, just the 184 page manual.

It might've been this video  http://www.2ksports.com/media/movie.php ... 748&gid=15

There's some tips in there, but I think it was either in my manual or in a vid. There's vids ingame too.

The only thing I don't like about this game is the weird All-star game selections. I had Posey on my team, he would switch between Sixth Man and 4th(maybe 3rd because I was simming) option (I had Artest above him, and sometimes I put Posey at the 4 and moved my created self at the C). And he made it in the all-star team above Artest and my created self....

Jugs, are the All-Star selections any worse than Mike Dunleavy

but sounds like it's something that they can improve on....

As Tumous mentioned i pulled off a rock the cradle with Josh Smith in practice once-that got me thinking u have to have a 99 dunk rating to do it?

I restarted my association (by accident, but I'm not real mad about restarting), I'm going to play an 82 game season this time and try to play every single game. I already changed all the playbooks of teams like Jae had said, and so far I'm 4-2. I've played 2 games against Memphis already, and they've been 2 of the closest, funnest games to play since I've gotten the game.
So what team do you guys play with, and who's your favourite team to play against?

Blazers, with randolph, Lenard and Miles traded off the team and I sign my created self.

Against, umm, I don't know, the Cavs are fun to play against.

have started to play game more....I suck at the moment....but one thing that has impressed me initially over Live is the CPU adjustments during the game....for instance, in one game I came out of the blocks strong with Wade....in the 2nd half, the CPU would double team Wade except when he was out on the perimeter....they also threw double & triple teams at Lebron which was good....was good to see Bill Russell rip Bogut apart (I was playing as Bogut) & then guys like Oscar Robertson & Elgin Baylor tore it up....it's definitely a game of runs in 2k6, but at the moment the game feels more like real basketball....although I do need to mess with sliders & other team's playbooks (as Jae mentioned)....

very good though (Y) and I love the fact that you can save replays, and that they show highlights from during the game at half-time & at the end of the game....simple feature but much appreciated (Y)

Just played a game against the Pacers, got my ass kicked. It was 38 - 45 for the Pacers at half and the final score ended up being 97 - 123 Pacers. Stephen Jackson and Peja wouldnt miss, Peja had 37 and Jackson had 30 here's their combined stats, 25/41=61% FG, 9/15=60% 3PT, for 67 points. I did everything I could against them, I tried 3-2 and 2-3 zones, but whenever I tried that they'd just pass it into the crowd in the paint and my guys would end up fouling them, and so a couple of my guys got into foul trouble. I tried man to man, with tight defensive pressure, and double teaming Peja and Jackson, and they still were shooting the lights out.
