I got 2k6 a few days ago and Im lovin it, more than Live and ive been playing live since 98. Im still editing my rosters and then Im going to change all the player ratings and tendencies, it sucks you can change numbers or positions though.
Also I dont know if anyone else has noticed, or its just another bug with the PS2 PAL version, but appart from Yao Amare & Shaq. the CPU will never attempt a dunk, so I guess ill need to change most of the top players dunk tendencies..

Appart from that and a few other small glitches this game is awseome, better graphics and gameplay compared to live.

yea i think that is another glitch, the only people that dunk for me are lebron (and hughes and murray on break aways), but none of my other big men dunk, ever and ive changed drew goodens dunk tendency to like 90 before

Hmm, they all dunk for me. It's probably the sliders you're using. Go to sliders and turn the dunk rating up higher and turn up user dunk tendency too.

I'm using the Cavs lol. I posted about them here a couple times. Just look up at that long post. :P Anyway, they're alright and you'll feel that alot of the offense has to go through LeBron and it does. Anyway, don't make any midseason moves unless to free up cap space because there's alot of good FAs out there. I didn't and now I have a completely different roster and I'm pleased for the most part.

shit just lost game 5 against detriot and got kicked out (i played 5 game series instead of 7 cause that takes too long), lebron had 4 fouls in the 3rd quarter but i decided to keep him in cause i had no momentum going and Tayshaun was heating up and i had noone else to guard him. Anyways with 31 seconds left in 3rd quarter lebron gets called for an over the back foul and now has 5 so im forced to bench him. For the first 5 minutes of the 4th Q i was getting killed on defense, and if i didnt do something i would have lost for sure, so i brought lebron back in with 7 minutes left in the game, down by 17. First drive that lebron takes he gets called for a charge! It was such a bs call, so lebron got fouled out and then for some reason, even though theyre up, detriot starts shooting threes for the last 4 minutes and goes 5 for 7 from down town in 4 minutes so i ended up loosing by somethign ike 24 points... i hate how the cpu still shoots and doesnt slow down and waste some time on the clock when theyre up at the end of games

To get used to the game, i made my own team using the mavericks before i started my association.. anyways heres my line up:
Dallas Mavericks (4-3)
C: Mohammed
PF: Stoudamire
SF: Created myself
SG: Bryant
PG: Ridnour

Key Bench Guys: Josh Howard, Payton, M. Daniels, Finley, Pryzbilla

My VIP tendencies tell me i dont pass enough even though i average 40 assists a game (Ridnour 34 last game ;)), So thats what im working on at the moment, as well as cutting down turnovers.. My 3 losses have all been double digits, and my wins anywhere from 5-10 points. Im really loving this game.

what do you guys think of this offseason trade,

Cavaliers get:
1st Round Pick (1st Overall)
Tyson Chandler (C 78 Overall)
Chris Duhon (PG 80 Overall)

Bulls get:
1st Round Pick (26th Overall)
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (C 86 Overall)
Eric Snow (PG 75 Overall)

I'd be getting a 1st overall pick(the draft isnt a very strong draft class though), I'd get rid of Zydrunas' $10 million contract, I'd get a quicker more athletic C and in the game Duhon is a better player and defender than Eric Snow, tell me what you think, and tell me if you think its a huge rip off

Does this happen for you for the Bobcats: Number 7 doesn't show up. I had Brezec (and now Jermaine O'Neal) and I set their number as 7 but on their jersey it says 8 :?

i decided to do this trade instead,

Cavs get:
1st round pick (6/7th overall)
Kwame Brown (70 overall)

Lakers get:
1st round pick (26ish overall)
Future second round pick (which i got from the raptors so itll be a pretty early second round pick)
Eric Snow (75 overall, and dont really need his defense anymore because with the lakers pick im getting a really good point guard thats being compared to jason kidd)

i figure this is a little more realistic, the lakers only PG was Vujacic (68) and they had already signed some decent PF during the regular season, plus theyre getting a top 15 second round pick next year and late first round pick this year for their early first round pick

Nice trade. I need to get rid of Snow too. I cut Newble and my rookie PG is really good, plus I have DJones on the bench. I'll hold on to him, maybe trade him in the future.

I've started a Sonics chise where I sim a few games and play when I feel like it :P

My Record is something like 15-7

Ray Ray is an absolute beast and is averaging like 27 5 and 5  , 2k's Association is so much deeper then Live's dynasty and it's not even funny.

i got drew goodens dunk ratings to the mid 80's, his dunk tendency is something like 75 or 80, and my user dunk tendency in the sliders is maybe 5-10 ticks above the original, he still wont dunk, then i accidently played a game on pro settings and he dunked every time he got the ball, and the sliders were the same

wow.....just wow.....i was just playing with badboy3's sliders and they are *perfection*....i only played 5 minutes quaters at the time and superstar....i was the bulls and i was facing the heat....gordon had like 26-28 points and the final score was like 47-63 heat. shaq was potg with 12 points and 5 rebs...wade had 20 points and the whole game was like real life...antoine shooting threes with shaq missing free throws and getting team while missing easy shots.......i'm probably going to start a Chicago Bulls association instead of the cavs since i like their squad....especially the duo with gordon+hinrich....i think they have a good future in the game.....i'm going to start today....

p.s.......do anyone of you guys play with preseason games?

I do. They only show up in the beginning of your second season though. I played em to get a good feel for my team.

I'm using badboy's sliders too but I think I make waaay too many jumpshots. The CPU is pretty good, except I was playing the Sonics last night and Rashard Lewis scored 31 points in the first half just scoring off of Js everytime he touched the ball. Him and Ray jacked up 3s like woah. They took 35 3s as a team. Anyway, I modded em a little bit, got a pretty realistic game against the Heat. 104-97, I'm happy because they scored under 100 pts. :P I play 12 minute quarters.

I'm using badboys sliders aswell.
And the cpu still never dunk..... :?:

yeah i had the same problems with badboys sliders, players would just run up the court and jack up 3's with 20 seconds left on the shotclock, but now i got a pretty good mix of inside, midrange, and outside shots taken

well I was playing a couple of games with the Heat and the Cavs...both teams are on my list to have an association with. The Heat have a very stacked team involving shaq, wade, antoine, etc. But on the other hand, the Cavs actually are a bright team. Their leader Bron is one of my favourite players...I was wondering which team do you think it'll be better doing an association with? if i pick the Heat it wouldn't be as fun since i'll be winning most of my games...same with the Cavs...so which team should I choose? also, are there any sliders that you think are very great/realistic because Badboy's 3 take TOO many shots and i reach in to much and foul, stuff like that....

Just use badboys as a base, lower cpu 3pt tendencies, and slightly raise drive tendency, mid range shot tendency and close range shot tendency, and for the fouls, just reach in less, or lower the reach in fouls in nba rules.

I got a question, do you guys use the clutch factor thing on or off? I just turned it off cause it said to in badboys sliders, but ive actualy never played with it on. Which do you guys prefer?

Well if you played with a stacked team, you can always resign midway through your season and go to a sucky team. As you get better as a GM you get more options to explore. IE, I did a Heat association and after I won the title, I stepped down and teams I could join were the Celtics, Cavs, Sixers, and the other sucky teams.

@ volsey,

I've played with clutch factor on and what happens is that the clutch players from your or their team can make more shots toward the end of the game. I recommend turning it off because sometimes I can't hit a 3 with LeBron but in the final 2 minutes I can hit like 4.
