Yea I definetly love the tendencies ratings, I will go through them again as well after I've played for a while. With the current settings point guards take too much shots. But the tendencies are definetly a great feature (Y)

Jae wrote:I'm going through and editing every single players tendancy ratings individually. It's really working too, I just played Miami and it was basically either Wade attacking the hoop like crazy and drawing fouls, or them giving it in to Shaq like right next to the rim. If all else failed they'd kick it out to Antoine Walker. I also had Iverson score 31 on 11/28 shooting against me aswell, previously I'd kinda had a problem where the SF was doing a large majority of the scoring and the high scoring PG's were finishing with like 10 points and 15 assists. Fixed that now though (N)

yeah i did the exact same thing-i went through and edited all the tendancy ratings to fit their game. Mainly the top 5 best players from each team

i dont see how i liked nba games so much without player tendencies, i just dont see how it worked... something weird though, bobby simmons has a 3pt shooter symbol thing by his feet when i play against the bucks, yet his tendency for 3pters was 0 :? some of their tendencies are crazy

This game REALLY needs to be on PC.

Also, is 2k6 on standard XBOX (as in, not 360)

as far as I know, it's on XBox, Xbox 360 & PS2

Tue May 23, 2006 11:36 pm

I think its only 60 or 70 bucks new for the standard xbox version here.

Wed May 24, 2006 8:25 am

 try going on XBL with a friend and playing on the same team. I swear, it's impossible to win. There's so many defensive lapses, it's not even funny. The opposing team can score on layups 90% of the time.

Wed May 24, 2006 4:33 pm

blend in with the croud.
and i think it's only about $60 on XBOX-it'll go cheaper of course :D

Thu May 25, 2006 10:11 pm

haha I finally found something worth complaining in this game: the 24/7 mode. It's just plain stupid and boring  1 on 1 against Chris Kaman and all he does is jack up airball three pointers!

Fri May 26, 2006 7:56 am

ya 24/7 mode is gay but i wanted to beat it so i could unlock those shoes or w/e, im like 30% done but its just tooo repetative

Fri May 26, 2006 10:06 am

It doesn't matter if you unlock the shoes or not, you can't use them on anybody except your 24/7 player. (N)

Fri May 26, 2006 7:39 pm

you should be able to use some of the modes of 24/7 mode in regular 2 player 1-1. Like big ball, small ball etc. :D

Well, I lost in 5 games to the Pistons in the first round with my Cavs. :( Larry Hughes was injured and that really hurt us.

Anyway, I went through the offseason and it sh!ts on NBA Live. I resigned Drew Gooden but not Ilgauskas because he wanted 10+ mil/6 years and he's already 31 so I wasn't gonna do it. I let him fall into the free agent pool.

The Rookie workouts are awesome. Shootaround, 1-on-1, 2-on-2, and 5-on-5. I ended up making a trade because I really needed a high pick preferably for a PG or a C, I had no Centers. So I traded:

Larry Hughes+Drew Gooden+2nd Round pick to Atlanta for Joe Johnson+Al Harrington+1st Round pick(5th overall). With that pick I drafted a PG named Jason Winston. He's quick, a good defender, and has pretty good hops. He had an A+ potential which is why I drafted him passing on a couple of white guys compared to Gilbert Arenas and Tracy McGrady but lacking potential. Anyway he turned out to be a 74 overall and my 2nd first rounder (23rd overall) was a 72 overall. I've trained them up a bit and now in the preseason Winston is a 77(thats with the attribute increase from practices) and Julio Osbourne(other rook) is a 74.

During Free Agency I signed Dahntay Jones for the minimum. :o I was surprised he was only going for the min so I picked him. I'm like 6 mil over the cap now and will be alot further over when I resign LeBron at the end of this upcoming season. Ironically enough, Ilgauskas signed with the Hawks, who have Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden now. The Rockets didn't resign Yao so the Bobcats got him, the Bulls got Steve Francis (which baffles me).

So here's my Depth Chart:

[PG]Eric Snow|Jason Winston|Damon Jones
[SG]Joe Johnson|Flip Murray|Dahntay Jones
[SF]LeBron James|Qyntel Woods|Luke Jackson|Aleksander Pavlovic|
[PF]Al Harrington|Donyell Marshall|Julio Osborne
[C]Anderson Varejao(very good rebounder)|Alan Henderson|and the rest of the PFs

I don't have a real Center so I'm rotating in Varejao, Osborne, and Marshall sometimes in there. I've been working Harrington out specifically on the boards because in the Pistons series I was severly outrebounded. I was afraid I was gonna get owned on the boards. Our first 2 games were against the Raptors, and MAN they SUCK! lol. The first game I simmed just to see how the team does together and we won by double digits. Lebron had 42. In the second game I played we shitted on em. LeBron had 45-8-10, Joe Johnson had 29-5-9. We had 44 assists as a team! And between Varejao, Harringon, and Osborne we pulled down 27 rebounds. We won 136-80 too. The Raptors didn't make any offseason moves at all minus their rookies. They lacked a backup PG too so I even saw Bonner playing some PG behind Mike James.

Anyway, I can't wait to see how this team will do in the future. We're playing really fast paced now, LeBron had about 5 breakaway dunks and 10 fastbreak dunks probably.

nice offseason trades, damn ilgauskas' contract expires after your first year, in my association (updated rosters online) im stuck with him for another 2 or 3 years, hes sooooo slow and has absolutely no stamina, anyways im playing detriot in my first year round 2 play offs, and the series is tied 1-1

Sun May 28, 2006 9:00 am

Well Ilgauskas, besides is low stamina and speed, is pretty good. He can hit a midrange J and is a good shotblocker and rebounder in the game. Everytime I take him out I get eat up on the boards.

Sun May 28, 2006 10:53 am

Well i got the game on xbox, and so far im loving it despite the fact that i suck..

Does someone wanna post their sliders for me?

Sun May 28, 2006 11:03 am

i used the ones from the 2k forums at 2ksports.com, i think badboys, but i did quite a bit of tweaking to it to make mine right, but his are good to start with as a base, with his sliders basicaly every game you play will feel very different( i think he called them very random), which is good cause if you play 2 games in a row, you wont get bored at all

do you use them TBD?

Sun May 28, 2006 1:56 pm

Weird question, could be yes or no though, meh.

anyways, I'm doing a 'chize () with the Boobcats and I lost the first game against fucking Hedo Turkoglu, fuck he dominates like a bitch. I was actually winning but at the end of the 3rd quarter, the Magic lit up and stole the lead from me. Then the scores were even with 5mins left in the game and Magic went 15-3 and won the game :( .

I already abused the Cats' cap space by signing Allan Houston, Glenn Robinson, Dajuan Wagner (He's God in this game) and Antonio Davis for a year, I think Houston for 2 years..

Yeah alls good.

I just put them in my game earlier today but I haven't experimented with them yet. I had modified Pared's sliders in mine previously.

Sun May 28, 2006 3:40 pm

Ok after a few games i finally won..THanks to Kobe's 60 points and 6 Forth Q threes including the buzzer beating game winner..

Anyways, my major weakness in this game is that i cant score underneath the ring, and that i cant get past defenders...any tips?

Sun May 28, 2006 6:03 pm

I'm constantly screwing with my sliders. I also realised that if you edit individual teams play books they will run them properly. Like I had a game against the Clippers where Brand had 9 points and took like 4 shots, Maggett had 36. So I changed the playbooks and messed with the tendancy sliders a bit and in the next game Brand had 24 on 19 shots and Maggette had 16 on 15 (Y)

Anyways, my major weakness in this game is that i cant score underneath the ring, and that i cant get past defenders...any tips?

Raise your close range sliders... and for the second one, pump fake and drive... alot of the time they'll go for a steal and you'll get straight past them.

Sun May 28, 2006 9:26 pm

Cheers will do that.

Mon May 29, 2006 10:10 am

hmm i'm not great with sliders, so i'll try the ones provided, one of the ways i score under the ring is by driving in go for the lay up and dish it out mid-air then shoot the mid range J. Either that or dunk all over them
