just sat down and played VC:S for a while. I love the new hand to hand fighting mechanics, really reminded me of Bully. but there are just a lot of glitches and horrible textures in this game.

...and back to San Andreas :D

wow, ok, so if any of you has San Andreas for the PC, I would recommend that you get this little mod.

http://mods.moddb.com/8960/san-vice/
http://files.moddb.com/6911/download-sa ... xt-update/

It puts Vice City into the San Andreas engine. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Wow... that's a must try I guess. Downloading now.

POSSIBLE SPOILER:

PS: i put in google translator because i was too lazy to do it my self so, some parts are messed up, you can get the message though.

I'll try that out - does it totally wreck your SA installation or what?

EDIT: Readme says it does...too bad. I don't feel like breaking SA:MP and MTA.

Mon Apr 23, 2007 8:10 am

yah it does, if you got the extra space just copy and paste the game files to another folder then install the SanVice mod to that.

I like the GTA Liberty City mod for Vice City.

It adds more exploration, though. Is it the one where VC is added to the large patches of ocean surrounding SA?

i was watching some videos of the ps2 version of liberty city stories on youtube, and i swear the graphics look better then san andreas', is that the case? is it just me or do they use a different graphics engine?

Wikipedia wrote:As stated in an IGN preview, "Rockstar dropped Renderware in favor of a brand new in-house engine to best utilize the resolution, texture density and particle effects of the PSP". RenderWare has been the game engine behind every GTA since GTA III (which includes GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas).

Perhaps the PS2 port reaped the benefits of that decision as well.

anyone else kinda pissed off that the removed planes from the new gta game? i hear its cause of the entire 9/11 thing and it being in "liberty city".

Tue May 22, 2007 10:25 am

you can "hear" a lot of things when it comes to the GTA series.

The devs stated that they took out the planes because the scale of the city, and the time to traverse the city would be too little. Im just glad there are still helis in the game.

Goto gtaforums.com they have a lot of info over there.

Tue May 22, 2007 12:28 pm

well, one good thing about no planes is.............. no rc flying missions DAMN YOU DAVID CROSS, DAMN YOU TO HELL

Tue May 22, 2007 12:38 pm

I have to admit I'm kind of glad that there won't be any story missions involving planes, though I would've liked to have seen them in the game in some capacity all the same. As long as we'll still have helicopters it's not so bad I guess.

i will miss the planes to mess around with, mainly that one with all that fire power, but man i hated flying missions more than anything in the game

If Rockstar made the damn things a little easier to control, it wouldn't be a problem. Every time I start up a new Vice City or SA game, I dread those damn RC missions and 'Flying School'(and those Wu Zi Mu racing missions are a b!tch too).

This dude has videos of every mission in GTA III, Vice, SA, LCS & VCS. Check it out.

Jeffx, your post reminded me that I wanted to find and watch the videos I just posted

Thu May 24, 2007 7:26 am

I noticed a mistake in "The Introduction". CJ committs a carjacking in front of Sex Club 7. But the strip joint didn't become Sex Club 7 until the mob whacked J.D. in LCS. That takes place in 1998. SA takes place six years earlier. Someone at Rockstar goofed. :)

I passed SA 3 times, its one of my favorite games, cause I like street gangsters and other stuff

GTA IV is going to be the ultimate experience on the Xbox 360. For one there will be 2 exclusive episode content that you can download via XBL. Im guessing it will be another story to play through, somewhat like the PSP side games they did with Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. Yeah i think they will be that big, and cost about 30 bucks. However this is just my guess. Another thing that might seem small, but helps the experience is that the PS3 controller lacks rumble. You wont feel your controller rumble as you run, or drive over a person. Im sure there will be other ways the rumble in the 360 controller will give you a better experience too. Such as firing a weapon, or falling to the ground. It might not seem like that big of a deal, but it does make a game a little more enjoyable.

Personally i cant wait. GTA IV and Assassins Creed are my most wanted this fall.

It was part of my motivation to get a 360 a couple of months ago. Aside from the developments with NBA Live (which I'd still rather see on the PC version, of course) I do play quite a few games on the console and GTA is one of them.
