Jason Maxiell is clutch. Last night I was playing a fantasy drafted Association, first game, I was up by like 18 points but the crew of Duncan, Anthony, Damon Jones and Primoz Brezec came back and took the 1 point lead with 45 seconds left. I went down the court, gave it to Maxiell in the post, he was posting up, turned around and laid it in. I was like yeah!

 i almost pulled a t-mac 13 in 35 playing against doobie last night. the score was 70-78 with i think about 15-20 seconds left and i stole inbound passes in succession. i think i ended up gaining a one point lead, but doobie dunked the ball in with #8 with 4 seconds left.

frick my opponent is still killing me on fast break, Lakers scored 26 fast break points on me (i had 12), i had 13 turnovers and each team had something like 11-14 off boards.....my crash boards/transition def slider in coach settings is turned all the way to transition defense, as soon as i shoot any shot their point guard, sg, or sf runs down the court and the guys defending them pause and stare at the shot, and dont start running down the floor till my opponent throws the ball all the way down court for the fast break

when that happens, go with a small lineup. that, and attack the basket. chances are, if you go for a jumpshot and you miss, that initiates a fastbreak right there.

ooh i just found Smush Parker in free agents with a rating of 58? took me a while, but anyway i got him and made his rating a bit higher, as it should be.
Jae about the sliders, yeah after i asked i realised that you cant really post them because there isn't numbers, doesn't matter 8-)

I got this game today, and I have one question. How can I change the player numbers? I traded francis to nyk and hes stuck with #18.

You can't. That's one of the few faults with it. The best way is to keep trading him until he picks up number 1 and then trade him back to New York. That's what I did, but it's a bitch though. For some reason you can change them in Association mode but not in regular roster editing.

Yeah you can, if you go to roster and click on their name it should have Edit Jersey Number... it might only come up in the off-season, but it's definitely there.

Ok in the associaton but not in the main menu rosters? That sucks. I tried the trading method but I guess I'll have to try it again... for longer only

Yea after 20 minutes of trading he finally wears the number supposed to.

To me this game is very difficult. Too much playing Live I guess. I've never touched the 2k games before so no wonder.

I just found it yesterday. Too bad all 3 of my dreamcasts broke. :x I'm going to DL an emulator, but I dunno if it'll work with my shit gfx card.

The only thing I hated about the game was the severe lack of crossovers. All that they had was a behind the back and that slow crossover for post players.

I'm getting my ass kicked big time... I'm something like 2-8 with pro difficulty, it takes time to adjust to the new controls. I still keep jacking up shots because I remember the right stick as freestyle control

One thing I don't like about this game is that sometimes you get the feeling that you don't have the complete control over a player, for example when backing down and performing crossovers. Might be my inexperience but still. Otherwise this game is great (Y)

Yea I've played strictly Live since 99 and now it's the first other NBA sim...

Like today I was playing my first association with the Heat, I got whooped by the pistons something like 25 points. I lost my nerves but decided to play one more game since Boston was the next one. I ran them out of the building, it was a great game.
This game really makes the difference between good and bad teams. Detroit was really like Detroit moving the ball and Ben getting the boards while Boston lost the game because of Pierce's ton of missed shots. I love this game <3

yeah and as you said the change from using the stick for freestlye moves on Live to shooting on 2k6, was a big one. I think the rosters should be a bit more updated as the game was released much later than Live

-i love the lay-up adjustment animations (Y) (Y) (Y)

I made it to the playoffs with my Cavs in the association. We finished 51-31, good for fifth in the east. You see the issue with the playoffs like this year where teams with records worse than teams below them get a high spot because they won their division. The Sixers won their division but only had like a 45-37 record, yet they get a 3 seed, so I got stuck playing the Pistons in the first round.

Anyway, a week before the playoffs started I received word that Larry Hughes broke his hand. :( Realistic touch, but 50 games too late. (N) So now he's out for 35(!) days! So bang, now I'm real short on guards. I have Murray and Snow starting, and all I have off of the bench is Pavlovic, Newble, and Jackson, 2 of which are listed at SF.

Anyway, if you guys are sympothizing with me now, stop it. Because the Pistons lost Chauncey Billups before the first round as well. He has a torn ACL and is out for 315 days!.

So we ran into Detroit and stole the first game, 98-85. LeBron hat 28-9 assists, 6 rebounds. Kobe was named MVP averaging 34 ppg, 7 rpg and 7 apg. KG was defensive player of the year with 1.4 spg and 1.8 bpg. Marvin Williams was ROY too, 15 ppg. LeBron was all-nba first team. Steve Francis was 6th man of the year.

I'm going through and editing every single players tendancy ratings individually. It's really working too, I just played Miami and it was basically either Wade attacking the hoop like crazy and drawing fouls, or them giving it in to Shaq like right next to the rim. If all else failed they'd kick it out to Antoine Walker. I also had Iverson score 31 on 11/28 shooting against me aswell, previously I'd kinda had a problem where the SF was doing a large majority of the scoring and the high scoring PG's were finishing with like 10 points and 15 assists. Fixed that now though (N)
