Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup - Discussion

A perfect ending to a perfect World Cup. Eventful and a fuckton of goals!

I was rooting for Klose to get his World Cup. I just wished Netherlands made it to the finals.

Only thing that I didn't like at all was Messi getting the Golden Ball. But I guess they gave it to him just because his fame and to show a little bit of respect and consolation. He was the man of the match in 4 matches arguement is bullshit, Messi didn't score once in the knockout stage. Did not play a key part in the game against Netherlands or Germany. It would have been more fair if Robben or Muller got it.

I bet Muller and Klose are a bit sad now that they didn't score one or two more against Brasil. :D

Anyway, a great world cup (Y)

Messi was there, Muller already won the cup. Messi is the face of Adidas, and since they are the sponsor of the World Cup, enter Messi as the best player of the tournament.
Even on FIFA's own website where you can check the performance of each player based on statistics, Messi is 14th. :D

Okay, Mister Mandich, i wanna first of all apologize to you if i ofended you, and if at past times and situations we fought. I provoke you saying that "You were late!", but let me be fair here, so Excuse Me!

I don't like the way you quote, formate and answer your forum co-partners and members.
I am giving the final step here for a truce, and i swear I WILL NOT TOLERATE OTHER CURSING RESPONSES QUIET.

Let me speak for good here, i learned this World Cup, here, at my place, seeing the finals on my backyard Stadium, the biggest of alltime: Maracanã... We saw (maybe) the greatest World Cup Ever assembled, and i learned from the World Champions Germans, that education, good manners and the sport spirit is the biggest gift to mankind of our beloved ball sport. But not only at the World Cup, at all peoples types of sports, someone win, someone lose, and so on... Hoping that the final understanding is that in winning or losing it we are the part of the same globe, called Earth, we are brohters.

Germans came here and won, cause they really have the better team, and deserve it! Period.

They built a hospital for the very true people round here, a little tribe of indians.
They built a road between the center field of trainning and the hotel.
They offered money to this community i wrote above, a 10.000,00$ amount.
They used our workers on their own constructions.
They socialized here, there, everywhere, they really were nice and kind, inside and outside of the soccer field.
They play well enough and serious enough to win the torunament.
They were gentlemen and true champions, the World deserve it right now!

So my response will be with class, education and good manners, cause i learned from them, a little more and throughout many individual pains, bans and fights, that we must live with others ideas, point of views and thoughts, i respect you way of defending every single thought of yours. But cursing and treating my beloved place and home with disrespect and no education is a shame for this forum space. You are better then these Man, i can see it by your speed in answer and pointing every single quote. You don't need to be like these, you know that brother. (Y)

Moderators should not ban you, i am not in favor of these, REALLY DON'T, but they MUST MODERATE THIS PLACE WITH JUSTICE. And if this is not happening, it's because they are failing badly on maintaing this place open, so what's is the pourpous of having it? WHAT???

When i born, my first cloth was a Flamengo's T-Shirt.
My first toy was a ball, a Football.
I live at Football Land.

I leave you with the BEST TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED IN FOOTBALL HISTORY, IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnoz4NuYMU8 :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

And like them, i have class to lose and admit my fails, but more important: LOVE FOR THE ART OF FOOTBALL SHOW.

THANK YOU.

P.S. Mr. Nightfly67, i always loved Dutch soccer, Van Basten Goal at 88 Euro still one of the most remarkable moments in my life. So, no needs to be hostile my friend, you are a great soccer nation, and will always be.

I wasn't hostile at all. You were though, and pretty rude also. It looks like me saying that I enjoyed watching the Brazilian fans cry stirred up some emotions in you which resulted in your hostility and rudeness. But pretty much the entire world enjoyed watching those fans (and players) cry, and that was enjoyable for obvious reasons.

I love Holland, despite your feelings about my country. Always did and always will. (Y)

Haha, it has nothing to do with Brazil itself. I actually quite like Brazil, the culture, and the people. Why I enjoyed the Brazilian fans crying? Because Brazil received every possible advantage to win the World Cup. According to every Brazilian they would win the World Cup, no problems. The arrogance of the Brazilians (also the players), the obvious bias towards Brazil, and the fact that I never thought it should have been held in a country like Brazil, caused me to enjoy the shots of the Brazilian fans crying. Nothing personal, I just thought it was comedic gold and justice was served.

Hahahahahahah, now i gotta what you say, yes we are the underdogs throughout any other life's field, we really feel like this, and that's funny cause when it comes down to soccer, we feel like we are the rulers of the world! But, that's the only field we are so arrogant, i swear. And it's really funny cause got nothing to do with our style of living and thoughts, you are right.

Our people is cool, social and funny, we made jokes about ourselves, to keep life at least funny, as our government makes the "real party" with our money. We have a lot of indioms here, many about soccer and life situations, but we have one, that's not about soccer, but i seem funny to share: "We may lose the friend, but never the joke!" Heheheheh :D

I know we have problems down here, but i think as a global event that the WC should round the world. IMO.

Oh, I love Brazil and the people! I've been there four times for work, but thankfully I had plenty of time to enjoy my time there as a tourist. Just this World Cup I was hoping for the team to lose, I couldn't stand all the arrogance, especially from the players. It's also kind of sad for me, because I'm a big fan of the way Brazil used to play this wonderful game we call football. And Scolari didn't really help me want to cheer for the Brazilians, haha.

If the FIFA would actually help the country I would be in favor of holding World Cups in some of the less fortunate countries. But all it does is cost them billions of dollars and the normal people don't see any of that money. I felt the exact same about South Africa. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, I can't stand that and it becomes very clear that this is the case with events like these in less fortunate countries.

Brazil as a country is absolutely wonderful, the people are amazing and I love their passion for "futebol". Next World Cup I'll most likely be cheering for Brazil again if Holland doesn't do well. And, although I was only two years old back in '88, I've seen all of the games from Holland during that tournament at least 5 times. So yes, I remember! One of the best national teams in history if you ask me. (Hilarious how the commentators pronounce some of the Dutch names )

English commentators, really funny. LOL - Legendary Rinus Michaels coaching and celebrating at the bench. :D

Van Basten Goal over Dasayev made my mind... and suddenly every ten year kid wanna to learn how to shoot like him did at the time!

Spetacular, if you ask me before the World Cup which team i fear the most, i'd probably say Holland. Always play their style of football, inside or outside home, danger, fast, organize and serious. Obviously, Germany explored Brazil's fragil midfield and shocked the world and us, but my fear team against will always be Holland.

So you came here? And chant against US? Oh... C'mon man!!! Heheheheh :D

The social problems ofc makes us sad... But, unfourtunally is our reality.

Was surprised to see Neymar on the bench for Brazil's last game, good to know his injury isn't that serious to keep him paralyzed waist down for a long period of time.
Too bad his presence coming back from an injury wasn't enough to motivate the team.

I like how Thiago Silva played the last game and Brazil still lost by 3-0 to the Dutch, just shows that even if Silva played against Germany Brazil would still have conceded a lot of goals and the result would still be the same, that of Brazil losing big maybe conceding 4-5 goals instead of 7 lol
lol also at Brazil being booed by their home crowd for the second game in a row after their pathetic display.

Props to Dick Van Pussy for giving the captain's armband to that old Dutch superfan in the crowd after their last game, one of the entertaining fans to see during the tournament.

Don't know if Lionel Messi was tired or he just choked (like the Dutch) in that final possession in extra time against Germany, that free kick was terrible.

Other than Angel Di Maria, Argentina defense which decided to show up after the group stage, and flashes from Gonzalo Higuain, Messi got no help. His choking ass had to carry the team and it took a toll on him.

The win could have gone to either team during regulation time but the moment Argentina started to rely on cheap shot tactics to bail themselves out a slim victory for Germany looked possible even if it took them all of extra time, and it did.

Bastian Schweinsteiger showing how to do a 'Willis Reed' properly unlike Neymar, probably fired up Germany too, bad mistake for Sergio Aguero to do a cheap shot.

What an awkward moment for Argentina while the podium was being set up and the players were made to wait some minutes before the medal ceremony.
Their team captain Messi or their coach Alejando Sabella could have gathered the team in a huddle to console each other until it was time to receive their medals but they just had to stand there like they had just gone through the trauma of being castrated.
Those minutes of waiting were a long hell for Argentina as Germany and its supporters were celebrating on the pitch.

Though I was rooting for Germany the one bad thing about Argentina losing is that the crackhead Diego Maradona will still continue with the delusion that he's the best thing that ever happened to Argentina or even football for that matter.

Ironic part about the Golden Ball is that Messi wasn't even the best player in his team during the WC. It was Mascherano.

How did Cahill's goal only come 6th in the goal of the tournament voting? At worst it was second behind Hame's goal. :turrible:

In no specific order Cahill, Hames, and Gotze's goal in the final are top three for me with dick Van Persie's header after those three.

Old but still hilarious.

North Korean news about how their team won the World Cup

phpBB [video]
phpBB [video]

Group stage:
NoKor 7-0 Japan
NoKor 4-0 USA
NoKor 2-0 China

Round of 16: NoKor 7-0 Portugal

Quarters: NoKor 2-1 Germany

Semis: NoKor 3-0 South Korea

Finals: NoKor 8-1 Brazil

lol at how North Korea was also hating on Brazil.
They were almost honest with that score against Brazil, off by an excess of 1 goal in the actual 7-1 win by Germany.

North Korea also better in editing video than the NBA with that terrible Steph Curry commercial
