JaoSming & WiiFit - Beginning of Round 2

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Which is why I am going start to try and loose some of it, I just don't understand why testing out a fun "exercise" game before trying dieting and full blown exercising is such an issue.

Wait a second. This I can't believe. Me laughing at something is making an issue of it but you make a thread and continue to post updates about the topic?

Unbelievable.

...the fuck?

I'm not the fat fuck who's turning to a videogame to lose weight.

That is making an issue of it. I obviously wasn't clear in the first post about how I was going to be doing this so why wouldn't I clear it up?

That was in response to your ashamed emoticon. And still, how am I making an issue of it when you're the one who makes a thread about it and is posting updates about the topic?

I'd say at 6'6"....a good weight would be 240 or 250. That's not nba fit...but it's regular grown man fit. At my height...230 or 220 is good in the same regard. As long as it's mostly muscle that is.

I think you still lost weight after all that eating because you could be increasing your metabolism by eating more. It also could be just the exercising. You are putting alot of food in your body, but now that you are exercising, your body is burning it up again like when you were younger, and of course you are still young.

You also could have taken a hell of a dump.

Well I def put the metabolism angle to the test last night. A very nicely sized porterhouse w/ chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, corn and a bunch of coleslaw. Breakfast was a couple eggo's and a fart tart and lunch was a large salad with turkey + cheese. (I think ill post an overview of what I ate so I can see where I need to improve when I do decide to eat better)

yohance, how tall are you man? I guess you can say my overall goal is to get back to my 220 pound playing weight but when I was that skinny all I wanted to do was bulk up a bit so it actually looked like I put on muscle. I think if I play my cards right my ideal would be near 240-250 like you are saying but for the pace Im taking this at, I might not reach that till winter.

Today's results:

BMI: 33.31
Weight: Just barely under 288
Weight lost from yesterday's weigh-in: -0.9 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 24

Yesterday I got one hell of a workout out of this thing. The yoga wasn't bad but 2 days ago I unlocked the "advanced" versions of the strength exercises. So yesterday included 20 pushup/side plank things, 20 jackknifes and 15-30 reps of everything else. I was definably feeling the effects right after I did it but again I got away without feeling sore in the morning.

I'm only 6'3"....but with my overall size and height i'm always considered the "The Big Guy" IRL; even when im around someone taller. I started working out when I was 13...used to be a jock in highschool. I kinda wish I pursued football when I was in highschool like everyone pushed me to...but basketball was always my thing instead. My wife is tall so i'm expecting my son to be a big/tall mofo.

Let's hear it for fluctuation!

BMI: 33.47
Weight: 289
Weight difference from yesterday's weigh-in: +1.3 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 28

Food, 4 eggos, poptart again (trying to get rid of them), ham turkey honey mustard sandwich, then 2 bacon cheeseburgers (home made not fast food) w/ fries, plate of salad and a couple cookies.

Yesterday was an exhausting day at work. I had to survey a fucking wetland full of undergrowth. Also got a pretty sweet sunburn on my neck and forearms for it. Got back my body was pretty much useless even after I did the yoga exercises. I kept failing miserably at the strength maneuvers so I just decided that it wasn't going to happen. Today I do have to go back out there and finish delineating that piece of shit soon-to-be-paved wetland and hopefully it won't tire me out like it did yesterday.

Yea, a lot of people do that but I have been eating like that for as long as I can remember.

Todays results

BMI: 33.75
Weight: 291.75
Weight difference from yesterday's weigh-in: +2.4 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 26

To be honest, yesterday I didn't do any exercises, I was still shit exhausted from work the day before and had a shitty night's sleep. The Wii Board said that I may be going through "weight rebound" and that I should not try and do as much at first when trying to loose weight.

Yesterday's cringe fest was 5 tiny muffins followed by the daily poptart at work. Lunch was a roast beef wrap and we went out for chinese for dinner where I overstuffed myself with General Tso Chicken, Pork Fried Rice and Crab Ragoon.

My legs still feel tired today, but even if they are like this I am going to force myself though some of the exercises.

EDIT: When weighing in you have the option to say what kind of clothes you are wearing. Light (-2 lbs) Heavy (-4 lbs) and Other (+- 0) Today I did other instead of light, I think I am going to do 2 weigh ins and see what the differences are. Not that you all need to know this, but I do this crap in only my boxers and a tanktop.

Are we using terms like "fat" and "overweight" relative to athletes and supermodels or relative to considerations of genetics and health?

I haven't seen much evidence to suggest that the whole "this is the correct weight and since you are above it, you are a disgusting human being" phenomenon is not simply a large-scale marketing ploy like most health 'crises'. "If you have these generalized symptoms, you probably have this disorder and we just so happen to have several pricey methods to treat you for it."

^ I think so too about the so called weight "standards".

Some gym instructors that I come across say that my ideal weight should be about 140 lbs. for my height of 5'8. Which is fucking hard to do really.

The professional boxer Manny Pacquiao is 5'7 and weighs about in the range of 140-149 when the official weigh-in is over where boxers gain weight because their intense training is done. I've seen Pacquiao up close and the man is all muscle, not bodybuilder type muscle but defintely greater compared to a regular person.

Jao is not fat, he only swells up when he gets nervous.

:x bastard, stole my joke I was going to make this morning. There is a genetic gene that affects my mother and my sister that causes weight gain. But again, no extra pounds even hit me until UMass where the stress, missed meals & etc happened.

Today's Results

BMI: 33.67
Weight: 291
Weight difference from yesterday's weigh-in: -0.7 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 28

Total Loss: -2 pounds

...or should I say 4 pounds because of the clothes weight fiasco. I was not consistent with that and every test was done in my boxers. Food for yesterday included a Bagel, rest of the chinese food, then garlic mashed potatoes, corn, sweet pea pods, and one hell of a porterhouse (again).

I did do all exercises yesterday and let me just say this, plank's suck. I've never done that before and it is basically a pushup on your forearms and you just keep your body in the air. Today I have round 2 (3 years later) of our Erving vs Turners basketball tournament. (catch round 1 and skinny Jon here http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 6694264207 ) I should be able to find time for more exercises today as long as I walk away from today's games under my own power.

hey hey hey, I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, double post time. Yesterday was an active day to say the least. Started off playing that erving vs turners basketball games. We got our asses kicked but I played decent but am def waaay out of shape. The good news in that is that instead of my knees themselves hurting after playing, my muscles were sore which means I have strengthened by leg muscles enough were they get hurt rather than my knees. After that for father's day me and my family played 9 holes of golf, I still hate walking up those hills, especially after basketball, but I was able to snag a respectable 46 on my first time out for the year.

Today's Results

BMI: 33.67
Weight: 291
Weight difference from yesterday's weigh-in: +-0.0 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 24

Total Loss: -2 pounds

Kinda weird that I came up with the same exact weight as yesterday, even with the precision of this thing going to the 0.1's of a pound. I do plan to force myself to do this tonight, even if I'm sore. I mean at least do the stuff that isnt going to hurt my sore muscles further.

Food for yesterday, just a poptart for breakfast, then only a spare rib & pork chop for lunch. Then for dinner I had a frozen pizza and jalepeno poppers with some popcorn chicken.
Opinions are my own.

True that, broiled/boiled/grilled breastmeat is the healthiest option.

Boiled being the most healthy and most yucky. Worked for me though.

yea and I'm sure that since I own a fryer and have been re-frying all the normally fried food that you guys have been reading that just helps my situation, lol Seriously, all the popcorn chicken, frenchfries, poppers, etc have been fried, not baked when I eat them.

and now, this morning's results.

BMI: 33.85
Weight: 292.5
Weight difference from yesterday's weigh-in: +1.5 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 26

Total Loss: -0.5 pounds

Gettin close to where I started, nice little roller coaster effect is being shown on my progress graph in Wiifit. No WiiFit exercises for me yesterday due to the storms that blew through so I kept everything unplugged most of the night. The only times I could have done it my girl was doing her body test and I was waiting on the possible OTP night. However, I did get a good half mile sprint in yesterday. The storm was going to hit here at 5pm, I left early at 4:50 so I could get back in time. It started raining right when I left and thankfully the golfball sized hail didnt start until I was already inside.

Food for yesterday: It was a "healthy" day, even if the results dont really show it. Granola bar in the morning, salad and chicken salad wrap for lunch. Followed by baked chicken + veges for dinnah.

Today I think I will be trudging through that wetland again, hooray...so hopefully it won't tire me out too much.

SPECIAL NOTE: If you care about what is going on here and want to know if WiiFit has done anything for me after 1 week dont pay attention to the weight. I can honestly say that I am more flexible and my legs + abs are definitely a lot stronger as well.

Good that your abs are getting a workout, so those love handles will disappear, and court handles will reappear.
