Aussie gov't formally apologizes to Aborigines?

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Yeah around here it's called "chroming"... from what I know they spray paint into a plastic bag and then put it over their mouth/nose and inhale the fumes.

What a waste of two good cans of spray paint.

Oh yeah and the condition of that poor man fills my heart with sadness yada-yada-yada and other sympathetic crap.

Why did matts post get deleted? Ty??

As for the apology, how can a government apologise on behalf of a population when its quite clear the population does not think they deserve an apology.

And if you are so willing to support apologising to those idiots, why don't you do something to help them rather then say "oh they encountered so much hardship. We're sorry"?

If I remember correctly, it was about how he hated Aborigines so much that whenever he saw one he would want to kill one or something. Something along those lines.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking during this whole thread. I don't really know anything about the situation, but it seems like publicly apoligizing is more demeaning then anything else.

Aussie gov't: OK, we're going to acknowledge we treated you people poorly.

Aboriginie: Wow great, what are your exact plans for programs to help us?

Aussie gov't: We're going to say we're sorry.

Actually Indy, it's more like this:

Aust. Government: "We're sorry"

Aboriginals: "Great, wheres our compensation"

Aust. Government: "Uh we're sorry?"

Remember, they started a class action for compensation before the government publicly apologised. This is about money and feeling sorryfor them. Nothing more.

If I remember correctly, it was about how he hated Aborigines so much that whenever he saw one he would want to kill one or something. Something along those lines.

I've seen a mizbillion of posts similar to that here at NLSC, but I guess certain mods want to be hero's...
