Plus we have some news youngsters that will be blowing through the roofs come 2006... Kaká (the next Rivaldo, only better), Diego, Robinho, and so on...

England will have a good team too, though I think their defense won't be so good as it used to be.

Germany, well, they will find some new talent; same with Italy.

Spain, they don't have many great players... Maybe only Raul won't be enough to carry the team.

France? It will be last hurrah for Zidane and company.

Reading that i can see u have no idea about soccer, Raul is the man most finished in the soccer's world with only 27 years, if u follow spanish league u will see real madrid is finished, figo, ronaldo, zidane, RAUL, all of them are finished, and barça is the best.

Talking about the world cup brazil is gonna win it, if not then england.

brazil: an ofense ith ronaldinho, ronaldo, kaka, adriano, robinho, is very power full, but...
england: gerrad, LAMPARD, beckham, owen, rooney, joe cole, ashely cole, ferdinand, campbell, wo, thats a very good team

The african teams, I think some of them might have a good shot, same with the asian teams.

Opinions...

This thread was created on 2003...
so they didnt know Greece won the Euro cup..
hence, they're also one of the toughest defensive teams Brazil has to beat.

Greece has no depth what so ever. Only Panatheakos club members.

England is still my pick, now with the contribution of Rooney.

GO China! And Australia!

Sun May 29, 2005 10:38 am

Go Chile...there's still a chance of qualifying

Holland, England, Brazil, maybe Greece, these teams have a great chance to be the champion.
It depends on skills n Luck.

I was right when I predicted a Brazil vs. Germany matchup during the last World Cup, in this very same forum. :proud:
I'm going to do it again, Brazil will win it. I may have to watch a few more international matches to determine their opponent. :)

Mon Jun 13, 2005 5:21 am

France's team became really really weak for some reason and there are only like 2-3 vets left which sucks. Besides that I thougth Zidane retired a while ago?

Mon Jun 13, 2005 10:15 am

Well, Zidane's still playing. And they've got Henry and Trezeguet (Y)

Mon Jun 13, 2005 10:57 am

I thought Zidane officially retired from International Soccer??/

Mon Jun 13, 2005 11:10 am

he did

plus henry does shit with france

Tue Jun 14, 2005 2:16 am

If only they had their 98' world cup team together again... good times.

Also, I heard that Barthez is going to retire soon if he hasn't already.

That's weird.... since you joined in Dec 2002, and the WC was in summer '02... :?

That's good news for France... put in Landreau beneath the posts... (Y)

Tue Jun 14, 2005 8:06 am

^^^ I predicted it in the "OLD" NLSC.

Sun Jun 19, 2005 12:06 am

Brazil gonna take it....they just beat Greece 3-0 with some great goals and they look real sharp. If any team is gonna take it from Brazil they are gonna have to play beyond their best games.

Sun Jun 19, 2005 1:21 am

That free kick  ...just amazing

How about Adriano's goal? Hurt us big time...

The Real Deal Breakdown

With Confederations Cup almost halfway through, it's time to read the future.

Brazil - Always a contender, but needs to watch out if Adriano slips out of games like he has a habit of doing. Without a Adriano in shape they're not going to win it. Ronaldo gets by in Real, but in this team everyone needs to work, even thought the individual players are amazing.
You know what to expect from Brazil, and I feel the team is stronger than in 2002, but Adriano must get his game together for the full 90 minutes.

France - A no show this time around aswell. Aging stars, with no-one to take their places yet.

England - Could the persistant dream of the Englishmen finally come through? It's possible. The midfield is the best in the world in my eyes, with the two best two-way players in Lampard and Gerrard. Add Wright-Philips and Beckham and you've got one hell of a midfield. Still a few questionmarks around the goalkeeper and the strikers. But it might get solved until next summer.

The Czech Rebublic - Who knows where they will end up? I had them as winners for the Euros last year, and they didn't come through. Don't see how they will be stronger next summer with Nedved on the downfall.

Italy - They could win it. As every year. They have the players, the experience and the backing to do it. But the system stays the same even though it's painfully obvious that catenaccio doesn't work internationally anymore.

Portugal - Not strong enough. Simply put. The generations doesn't overlap in a stable way, and the faults within the team is glaring in every big championship. Up there amongst the best, no doubt. But not good enough.

Germany - Nope. Ballack and homecourt wont help enough. Too bad though, they have a few of the most intriguing prospects around.

Argentine - If they just can hold on to a system and work together as a team, something that hasn't happened in a long time during the WC's, they'll take it. No doubt in my mind.

Greece - One. Time. Only. No team is surprised at how they play anymore, and no matter how good your defence is, you cannot get far without a striker of quality. Charisteas needs to reach one, two or three levels in order to make Greece anything else than a sidebar.

Sweden - We're dangerous next summer, make no mistake. If we can find a good compliment to Zlatan if Larsson isn't fit enough and if a good lock in the defence together with Mellberg comes forward we can go far.
All the pieces aren't there, but the most crucial ones are our strongpoint. Don't be surprised if it's '94 revisited.

Sat Jun 25, 2005 4:38 am

South Korea will win it all. Of course I am dreaming heavily and probably on all different kind of drugs if I think South Korea will be able to repeat their 4th place finish or even better. Park Ji Sung and Park Joo Young are amazing but our defense is just too weak.

So...Brazil will win it all.
Kaka rules. TRICOLOR! Sao Paulo~~!
Hexacampeonato(Eu acho?) meu~!

On a totally unrelated note, I have seen Marcos(Brazil's former goal keeper and current sub goal keeper..I think) in person. I used to have a Sao Paulo jersey that had Marcos and Kaka's (before Kaka was in the national team!) signatures...but my parents sold it to an auction for charity. Man, it must be worth a whole lot now!!!

Are you Swedish? If so, what do you think of Markus Rosenberg, who is going to play for my favourite club Ajax next year?
