Rural or Urban?

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

 lmao

I love the city, but I would definitely want to raise my kids in a rural area. Better schools, less crime. For myself I love the city because I feel right at home. Now that I do live in the suburbs, I really miss the city.

I am the most urbanized guy. I hate the country, or anything without electricity or decent water. I also hate not reading the newspaper every day.

If I could get my 100Mbit/s connection and the daily newspaper and a close-by store where I can flip through obscure albums - then I would prefer a rural area.

Considering that I'll never be in such a situation, I'll go with an urban area.

so you wouldn't care if your friends weren't near by and more bothered about your internet and a daily newspaper :|
I wouldn't like it that much living in rural areas because there isn't as much going on there but it does have advantages such as less crime/polution

I'm a suburban guy. I hate the crowded environment and the dull skyscrapers and buildings, but there's very little accessibility in a purely rural environment. I'll take suburban any day till I'm retired, which would probably render me a rural guy when I'm 60, if I live that long.

I think I'd like to be an a more urban environment. Right now I live in a rural environment, sure it's nice and pleasent, but it's boooooring. The local mall doesn't even have a music store!

There isn't many people here either. We have like 1 subway, and one trolley in the "city" part of where I live, but this is no New York or Boston. We really lack Mass Transit here. I've been to Boston a few times, and I've gone from Boston to Cambridge in like 10 minutes without a car, just by Subway, bus, and trains. Here, where I live, it would take me 2 hours to walk to my school. (N)

My area is suburbian/urban... it's perfect for me...

A good night out is walking distance from home... plus during the day you can drive through main street without getting a single honk! Occasionally you can tell someone to get fucked as they overtake you, and they'll imply, "yep fair enough. Sorry mate" as the swing the baseball bat into your face.

Your definition of a car is ANNOYING? I think it has a LOT more possible positive definitions than that.

What the hell is your definition of rural anyhow? Are we talking miles from the nearest house with nothing but elks and the stray bear as a companion?

Don't you have buses? Don't your friends like you enough to drive somewhere to meet you? Bah.

See, I'd do that, except I think location in terms of convenience would be better because I would hate driving half an hour to get to work and another half hour to get back home.
