Just wandering, what does the yellow background signify?

It gives good contrast to the colors used in the logos.

Yeah, but couldn't c0nr4d sue the NBA for copying his original design concept/idea, or would that be impossible, again because of his usage of the NBA logo?

It wouldn't be impossible, they'd just be two seperate cases. He's sueing them for stealing his design & they're sueing him for using their copyrighted trademark.
No case has anything to do with the other.

c0nr4d didn't copyright his work, so the NBA could use it if they want to.
What I meant though, is that the NBA would hire a designer who would "borrow" the idea and make his own version of it.

Will the picture be copyrighted once Conrad puts his name with a (C)??
Or the official and like standard copyright has to be registered?

I think you can just put it on there and then it will be copyrighted for a certain period of time, but I believe there are some specific rules for that.
If you just want it to be yours for a longer period of time and some other advantages you have to register it.

I don't know if it has to do with time, because anybody could put a (c) symbol next to their name, but if they actually registered their business or company and use their works associated with their products, then the (c) has meaning.
