I've seen most of these movies, but honestly why put them in your top ten. It's kinda of a cliche, some people just dot down some interesting actionpacked movies (saving private ryan, american history x etc) or some standard comedies and others put films in their list that are highly regarded by the filmcritics or have a high IMDB rating. What's the point in both cases?
Isn't the whole point of a top ten favorite list that you put down the Ten movies you enjoyed the much? At least people who have meet the fockers in their list are actually honest. But I get sick to my stomach when others make these weird lists with movies that only appear in the higher ranks of the IMDB top 250. It sounds too fishy.
This is my list in no particular order
About Schmidt
(you gotta love Nicholson)
K-Pax
(same goes voor Spacey)
Rocky 4
(a poor movie really, but great anyhow. gotta love Ivan Drago)
Braveheart
(seen this many many times, has many faults but in my opinion beats the fuck out of movies like Gladiator, the Patriot or Troy)
Das Experiment
(Astounding)
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
(Read the book, seen the movie many times, a childhood favorite)
Monty Python's: life of Brian&the search for the Holy Grail
(love Medieval setting, humor and sense and senseless humor)
Batman 1
(Another childhood favorite...Nicholson laughing like crazy...unforgettable)
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
(great Epic)
Adaptation
My numer one movie at the moment is:
Old Boy
a Korean masterpiece, theatre at it's best! Best movie of 2004
