Madden: how can I get started?

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I agree...how can Madden get a 7/10 in Sound...but still get a 9.5 while ESPN gets NO 7's but gets a 9.3... :?

I did a research on google for Madden 2005 tips cd or book...but I didn't find anything.

If you remember where you saw it, that would help a lot.

Yeah, i know it's against the logic to buy madden 04 now....but I'm still thinking about it. I'm not sure my hardware will be enough for 2005, my videocard only has 64mega of shared memory and I can't buy another one caz it's integrated (i have a laptop). LIVE 2004 worked fine, so i guess madden 04 would be ok too. But I don't know about 2005.

Remember that I don't know anything about NFL, so old rosters wouldn't be a big concern for me as I don't know any player

Furthermore, 9.99 for 2 months of playing it's a fair price. Your logic makes more sense....but I'm tired of Live 04, so I need some other game to play

First off, you should get Madden on PC (unless you dont want to wait that long but PC is MUCH better).

You probably dont need any manual to play, you can figure it out...

Whoa...

Someone tell me how Madden can receive a 9, 8, 7, 9, and 10 in the respective categories and receives a 9.5, while ESPN gets a 10, 9, 9, 9, and 10 and receives a 9.4.

I know it's not supposed to be an average but someone please show me the logic here. C'mon...

The overall score is not an average of the scores it gets in different categories, its just what the reviewer gave it overall....

Thanks for letting me know. Even though I mentioned how I was aware of that in my post.

Also, Gamespot only gave it a 9.0, opposed to ESPN's 9.2

Gamespot is horrible with their ratings. Do you think Street Hoops is a 4.0? I think it's at least a 6.5. And NBA Street vol. 2 gets a lower rating than live 03.

Street Hoops I have only played once= demo at Target...it doesn't come close to touching Street Vol. 2 IMO...GameSpot's rating system is indeed a little off, but who can I trust about this; I really want to know which game is better... :)

Oh, so I'm guessing that IGN is always legit?

C'mon, there's no logic in giving ESPN a lower score even though it was given a 10, 9, 9, 9, and 10 in the respective categories when all Madden got was a 9, 8, 7, 9, and 10.

...Even if it isn't an average.

Maden...

Madden has better gameplay, but many people prefer ESPNs Presentation... As IGN said "ESPN may be the sizzle, but Madden is still the steak"
