Though I didn't watch what happened next, I've seen so much spoilers from his game. :shake:

If Point Lookout is anything like The Pitt, I'm sure looking forward to it. The Pitt really is classic Fallout 3 gameplay, I'm almost done with it but I'm taking my time talk to all the slavers and get a better feel of this place, before the inevitable annihilation that I will most likely bring to them soon

Point Lookout is certainly comparable to The Pitt and Broken Steel in that it's more along the lines of the original Fallout 3 gameplay. It does have a bit of a different vibe to it (as you can probably see from the trailers) and the addition of food items that not only restore health but actually take away rads is cool too.

I'm enjoying Point Lookout so far, it certainly offers a larger area to visit and plenty of spooky visuals and stories. My only beef with it is that it's particularly unstable so far, it's crashed several times already and has plenty of glitches (most of the trees in the swamps are messed up). I hadn't had a single issue with The Pitt, which everybody claimed to be plagued with bugs at first, but this one certainly has plenty.

The Pitt had a lot of missing textures and models when it was first released (at least for the 360), along with a crash that occurred whenever you tried to re-enter Downtown after collecting ingots in the Steelyard. Maybe that's what people are referring to when they're talking about Pitt crashes?

Correct, I think Bethesda fixed some things pretty fast, so after a couple of days the DLC download was free from most of the major bugs. I didn't have a single issue with it, besides a much lower framerate in some areas.
But Point Lookout is killing me right now. It's much richer in content, but I'm getting terrible performance with it in the swamps, the tree are completely glitched and actually show up in the sky, above the mansion.
And mostly, I'm getting many many crashes right now...I have to quicksave every 2 minutes to make sure that I don't lose anything.

The Vault is also listing July 28th as the release date for Mothership Zeta, so it's not too far away. The way the year has flown by so far, it should be on us before we know it. I'm keen to see the trailer. (Y)

Oh well, that's only another week.

The screens look great, too. I also noticed a link to this interview. It mentions a few of the new weapons, a mission-specific perk (shame that can't be permanent) and a good reason to return to the mothership after completing the quest line as there's an item that allows weapon repair without a duplicate. This is interesting too:

since this DLC (along with all forthcoming DLC packs) doesn't increase the level cap.

Perhaps it's just badly worded and they're talking about the previously released Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt and Point Lookout, but it almost seems to be suggesting that Mothership Zeta won't be the last pack after all.

:cheeky:

Sounds good to me, like a hint of things to come.

Anyways I'm stuck at Point Lookout and haven't continued playing for three weeks now. This job I have is cutting my game time.

Re: Fallout 3

A few months ago I rented Fallout 3, and got stuck early on because my character wasn't leveled up enough. I gave up, but I recently re-rented it and started a new file and got addicted. I started this morning and already have nine hours clocked. (Gotta love summer...) I downloaded Broken Steel off XBL and I was wondering if I had to start a new game for the higher level cap and altered ending to take effect. Can anyone with the expansion shed some light on this?

No not really. I recommend to have a save game before the last sequences of the main game.

Okay, thanks. You and Andrew were right about this game. Its unbelievably addicting. I just clocked another six hours into it and am finally forcing myself to go to bed. I'm not far in the story (just beat the Three Dog mission) and my guy's a level 6. How many hours would you estimate it took to get to Level 30?

Hmm...probably took me about 70 hours or more though I was also looking for the skill books as well to completely max out my character (which I have since done). With a lot of fighting, you could probably level up a lot quicker than that, not to mention the Here and Now Perk.

The addiction of Fallout 3 is astounding. I've had NBA Live Dynasty games that I've been really into, I've played GTA games for hours on end and so on and so forth, but I'm not sure I've ever played a game that I've been so keen to play into the ground as I have Fallout 3. By that I mean doing everything there is to do and then the DLC on top of that. It's scary the way "I'll just play until the end of this quest" becomes another hour or two...or more, if you've got the time to spare.

Haven't touched it for a few weeks though, basically since Point Lookout came out and I finished it. I'll give it one more run when Zeta comes out of course but then it's back on the shelf, I think I've finally played it as much as I can...for now. It'll definitely remain in the collection and I'll be getting it out down the track to try a new tact.

Same here, I've really tried to go to every single place that you can discover, and complete every single quest (just have the last mission of the main quest left). I'll probably download Zeta when it comes out, because the Pitt and Point Lookout were so good. I'm probably around 80-85 hours in it...

I believe in my current game I've clocked just over 100 and if not, I'm definitely in the 90s and close to the 100 hour mark right now. Scary to think about, but so easy to rack up the hours.

Gosh, I must've missed up some stuff  (EDIT:I'm lvl 28) I finished the main quest+all expansions (Though I haven't finished all the sidequests) and I'm only at 32h :D Probably mostly due to skipping dialouge, since I read it faster than the NPC tells it.
And true, the game is one of the most addictive games, if not the most. I might make another character and maybe start writing a story 'bout it in the Video Games Stories section. Would any of you read it? xD

I reckon I'll probably have as long a play time if not longer because I go about the quests pretty slow, and find myself returning to Megaton about five times in each one. I've clocked 15 hours, and I am at Level 7 and just got into Rivet City, but I bet it will get a lot harder from here. I love that the enemies don't evolve as you do. Thats what kept me from enjoying Oblivion. Its a nice feeling being able to kill super mutants so easily now.

Today is the warmest day of all-time here in Seattle (103 degrees... its a very temperate climate) and I'm a little worried about my 360 with these long sessions.
