The problem is, is that they (refs) don't punish it enough with cards when they see it happening. I don't mind a flop when there's contact, but I hate it when they go down screaming like they broke both their legs.

FIFA should just start fining players who dive and it will stop pretty quickly. Maybe even fining refs who miss it.

I think the Netherlands win it all from here. Netherlands over Germany/Colombia.

Most logical would be a Netherlands VS German final.

But I also feel the refs will do their best to make it a Argentina VS Brazil one.

Aye Phil, if Costa Rica beat them Dutch, they should be the champions. :D

Brazil vs Argentina was what a lot of people wanted to see before the tournament. Would be pretty epic.

Imagine the first Barcelona training session afterwards if Messi or Neymar scored the winner. Awkward :shifty:

Even against USA? I'm pretty sure they went all-out attack from the start.

If the USA bothered to attack earlier in the game during regulation time instead of being on the defensive Belgium wouldn't have had those insane amount of shot chances that the stat shows.

You can't say the USA aren't capable of attacking the Belgian defense during regulation time because what the USA showed in the final minutes of extra time say otherwise.

Belgium could have won the game in regulation time if they really wanted to, despite Tim Howard, instead of settling for shots given to them by USA's less than talented defensive line resulting in those ridiculous amount of shot chances and making some bonehead errors on offense that gave the only chances for USA to have the ball in regulation time.

Valbuena is annoying.

Rooting for Germany but Mueller complains like a bitch.

Neuer pwning France with one handed saves. Like a boss. Carrying Germany to the win protecting that one goal score.

So this is the end for James Rodriguez and Colombia a really good run for them considering they don't have Falcao. Thiago Silva missing the next match makes Germany happy.

Neymar is out of the World Cup... He suffered a break vertebrae back injury after Zuniga's tackle. And people say that Brazil is getting support by refrees... Riduculous.

After all, only the same remains: Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Netherlands. It seems fair and normal, only Belgium can bring an upset, but i doubt about it.

But the refs did let Brazil had their way with Colombia that when Colombia fought back the ref had no choice but to suck his whistle to give the impression of fairness.
If Hames was as brittle as Neymar Hames would have gone down too with the unfortunate injury Neymar has.

Hames didn't even care when he had a huge ass bug on his arm after he scored the goal.

To be fair, Jo is pretty forgettable.

Quarter finals are done. Arguably all the favourites won again. The semi finals are a repeat of the 1978 & 2002 WC Finals.

Predictions?

Mine:
Germany
Argentina

Neymar and Thiago Silva out gives Germany a big advantage. I feel like they are strong enough defensively to cope with Fred and Jo.

Btw, how stupid does Diego Costa look right now. He would walk into this Brazil team. What an idiot

Other game could come down to Messi vs Robben. I'll go with Messi. Hopefully Aguero is fit, after Di Maria got injured.

Since I want Germany to win it all I want them to face Argentina.

I figured the whole of Brazil would rather cheer for a team that beat them than root for their rivals Argentina.

Don't underestimate Brazil shirt, Germany got to win a five time World Champion team at our home. Germany has the best team, along with Holland, ofc they are favorites, but Argentina and Brazil will play with their hearts at home. Neymar is going to be a big motivation cause for the brazilian squad, that's the best of big Phil (Felipão) job, to motivate their squads.

I won't assume that favorism, before the matches as you guys are doing. Speculating in soccer (football) is an error. Let's wait for the semifinals, and more, Holland has play a though game against the Costa Rica team, so they are a little bit more tired, and Argentina got the best player of the World in Messi's figure.

Again, I'm horribly late...

Lol at people saying Casillas will be the GK of the tournament when he clearly strugled all season long.

That Neymar bitch got what he deserved and he actually helped Brazil. They were going to get decked by Germany anyway, now they can say that they would've been the better team if the had Neymar and this will turn to be one of the biggest "what if" stories in recent soccer history.

Netherlands all the way.

Well the Germans are steamrolling Brazil and it is still the first half.
