Should I get 2k6 even though I have Live 06??

Nice stat's, how many minuters per quarter your playing the game?
I'm playing 2K6 in Association mode with Suns(9W-3L) in Superstar level on 9 minutes per quarter(normal speed), my team usually scored 95-100+ per game and Steve Nash is averaging 24.5 pts, 13.5 Assist, 1.8 steals per game, Amare is averaging 23.2 pts, 9.7 Rebounds, 2.4 blocks per game while Marion is averaging 18.9 points 9.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 2.1 steals per game. It's really nice because all my stats are pretty realistic.

damn dude, those stats are pretty realistic, kinda like the real phoenix suns.

i just had an insane game against the boston celtics (i was the nets). final score was like 133-127.. paul pierce pretty much torched me, i held him to a horrible first quarter but he caught fire afterwards.. he finished the game with 44 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.. as for me....

jason kidd: 17 points, 12 rebounds, 21 assists, 2 turnovers
vince carter: 27 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 6 steals
richard jefferson: 27 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 6 steals, 2 blocks

Damn your big 3 were all close to getting triple doubles . J kidd , thos stats are too much . My Knicks Association is going horrible . I want to get Curry and AD involved more . They average 9 points and 5 rebounds each . Marbury and Crawford average 21 each , but Marbury averages 8 assist.

yeah kidd's stats are ridiculous, but its mainly because i was controlling him. otherwise though when i play the stats are pretty realistic minus that one game.

Curry with 5 rebounds is realistic

I also had a game against Cavs where Lebron scored only 5 points on 2 out of 10 shooting in the first half but he waxed hot and tortured his defenders Marion and Bell in all angles in the 4th quarter, finishing 36 points(26 in the 4th quarter) 10 rebounds and 8 assists beating my team Suns 109-103

Kidd can do that once in a while, remember kidd had a personal high of 25 assists in a game

I'm 0-7 in my Knicks Association . God , all games I lost by 5 points or less , except the first game against the Celts , I lost by 40.

man i keep having crazy ass games, anyways i was playing with the lakers just now against the grizz. i pretty much dominated the first 3 quarters, i was up by as much as 14.. so beginning of the 4th quarter i decided to rest kobe and odom and let some of the bench players play. big fucking mistake, aaron mckie could not guard their point guards, medvedenko and kwame couldn't guard their bigs (hope this isn't a sign to come) and george wasn't nailing his open jumpers. with about 5 minutes to go, the grizzlies came back and were up by 5 so i decided to put odom and kobe back in. slowly i crept back into the game and with about a minute left, i finally took the lead. we were up by 1, and the grizz missed a shot with 26 seconds left so i brought the ball up court and decided to run the clock out but odom camped in the lane for 3 seconds so that resulted in a turnover, argh. the grizz took possession and with about 6 seconds left, gasol posted up odom, pump faked, odom bit, SHOOTING FOUL is called, and gasol still finishes his shot. he makes the free throw and the grizz are up by 1; score is 123-121. i call timeout and i have the ball at half court. i inbound with george, kobe catches ontop of the key with battier guarding him and launches a three at the buzzer that swishes throughhhhh! 124-123 baby.

Yesterday i got this game , WTH it is so fun , the net animation especially my fav, training video ,i like the new freethrow system ver realistic...


Overall , tons better than live...Regret spending my pocket money to buy live , should have wait for F.E.A.R

Theres two major things

-The commentary is amazingily unbelievable
-The gameplay is pretty sick

Better than 06?

NBA 06 is more hyped...but its a tough desicion right now...

This game owns so much. I chose this over Live at Blockbuster because they didn't have it.

I'm so glad I did because from the looks of it, NBA Live won't get as good as they.

When I started my first game and heard Kevin Harlan and Kenny Smith and saw the presentation I immediately said "EA got OWNED by signing ESPN".

2K Sports has the laugh last here, folks. These guys might go and make a boldfaced contract with TNT Sports and everyone will be like "Oh snap!".

I do however wish that when a NASTY dunk happens or when you dunk on someone that Kenny Smith would go bananas like he does during the Dunk Contests and stuff.

As expected, the graphics look pretty good. Some animations suck though and the jersey movements are really exaggerated. Plus everyone's shoulders look a little too wide

I'm loving 2k6 but the jersey movements are way exaggerated.. that's my only problem with the game

I think he was referring to the xbox360 version since EA won't have dynasty mode in Live for Xbox360. But as far as I know, 2k6 will have all the features in their xbox360 ports

got my first blowout (sort of) today, won by 10 . i was the cavs and i beat melo and the nugs. LBJ got player of the game with a triple double - 30 pts, 11 boards, 10 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks. unfortunately i couldn't stop melo, dude torched me all night with his pull up J's and fadeaways. he finished the game with 26 points.

Thoughts on 2k6

I don't see how this one is better then Live its opinion that graphics are better.

People also "say" it’s more of a simulation. I don't think they figured out what the three pages of game setting sliders in options are for. There’s 3 pages count them 3 Global, User, and CPU... You can make live a high speed 400 point game or slow it down to simulation play to where you can only get a handful of dunks a game.

Then when all else fails they try to bring up the "skate" statement. That players in live skate like a hockey game. I myself don't see what their talking about. I think the circle indicator messes with their eyes.

All in all I tried this one and was very disappointed it’s made by the company that took over from sega and plays like the ESPN games.

No freestyle dribble just one button for all of the moves like crossover spin and ect ... its like a box of chocolates never know what you’re going to get.

The so called innovative shot stick only does what live does with the control stick after you press the shoot button.

Unlike live you can’t choose between lay-up, shot, or dunk.

You can't choose specifically what dunk you are going to do unless its the only dunk the player does at a certain position. Live the highflier can do 12 or more dunks specifically and numerous regular dunks by the position you jump from.

You can't choose what type of pass, block, steal, or shot you decide to do. With Lives superstar settings you can.

Theres no pro-hop witch the hard core b-baller shouldn't be without.

I could name more if I took time. Bottom line is 2k6 don't have near the features and is super slow.

So it looks like they focused mostly on graphics this time around. I guess some people could actually go for graphics over game play if they never played in real life. I don't think they look THAT much better and if they do look better its sure not near the same game.

You wan't sim? get Live change a few settings and enjoy!

There are so many things wrong about what you're saying trecenters I don't know where to begin.
Oh well let me try and start.
Um...the agression button and the control stick allows you to do freeestyle moves. Press R1 and move right to left, or press R1 and go backwards, etc. Those are the same things as freestyle moves.
Oh and you can control what type of dunk you want to do actually, sort of. If you rotate the shot stick you can do a 360 for example. There are other things like that as well.

As for choosing which dunk and whatever, those are just superficial. In real life you hardly ever see 360 dunks in traffic or whatever.

If you press R1 + block you can do the same thing as the superstar block.
The Rip Stick can "choose what type of steal" you want to do MUCH better than just pressing L and the steal button for live.

The Shot Stick is confusing at first, but once you get used to it, you will realize its benefits much like the Superstar Modifier.

THERE IS definitely sliding in NBA Live...if you can't notice it, you're the one that's confused.

Don't get me wrong, I play NBA Live more than 2k6, but you give a lot of incorrect information.

I rented 2k6, and I played it just now. It's a great game, the stats and gameplay are . Also, the graphics just kill Live06. I love this game. But, I wanna get Madden 06!
