On a side note, I'm also predicting Germany-Holland in the competition's final. Can't wait for that, it's gonna be one awesome match.

Well, 'Oranges' sucked tonight and Russians showed that they are the better team. They flat out dominated and deserved to win.

I hope seeing a Turkey-Russia final. I dont think Italy or Spain is gonna bother Russia but I'm worried about Germany.

They are the better team? I'm sorry but I don't recall them playing three flawless games in the group stage. They didn't play flawlessly tonight either. In fact they were just better prepared physically and that's what allowed them to win.

I agree they deserved to win this game, but considering how extremely well Holland played the previous three games (and how badly Russia handled them) I think the Dutch deserved to pass to the semifinals.

And, no offense, Turkey-Russia would be the worst imaginable final in the history of this competition.

Responding to your last statement, you have to be nuts to think Russia is going to pass to the finals so easily, considering Spain already beat them. 4-1 to be exact...

OK. Russian did play well offensively. But defensively they were tackling hard. Also, they flop a lot. It reminds me of Manu flopping and Horry pushing Nash to the sideline - that's why I say they were like Spurs.

Anyway, Netherlands missed their chances like 3 times when Van der Vaart's free kick curled in. The players got rid of their markers but failed to head to ball.

Kolodin's long shot was top class though, so was Pavlyuchenko's shot.

Then the defenders failed to keep Torbinski away from the ball and scored the 3rd goal of Russia.

The ref was a bit biased though.

I dont see how russians played bad sweden or greece. greece was just trying to end the game scoreless, so it seemed like a bad game but they were better than spain against sweden.

Q, The first semi stands: Germany - Turkey, the second semi will be Russia against either Italy or Spain.

I'm actually rooting for Italy tonight. It'll be hard without the only actual talent in the team (Pirlo) but considering how lucky we've been so far, I think it's do-able.

Anyway, what's important is that whoever passes takes down the Ruskies.
