Shuffle, Nano, and Classic weren't changed that much. Nano now can play videos and is even more thinner than the last one. The design changed also on the 3 ipods.
New is the iPod Touch, which is very similar with the iPhone.

Only a moron would buy that iPod Touch. It's more expensive than any other iPod I can think of, maximum storage space of 8gb ... seems like a bit of a high price to pay for some poser to make themselves look like they have an iPhone.

I'm with Jae on this one: I'm not paying 400 bucks for 16GB of storage. I don't fucking care it's got touchscreen technology, WiFi, blah, blah, blah. I wouldn't care if it made breakfast for me and brushed my teeth.

16GB of storage is ridiculously small for that price. And all because they had to put flash-memory instead of HDD to make it as thin as a paper sheet. What makes them think it's a good thing anyway?

Apple got it wrong this time. They should've made just one touchscreen iPod with bigger capacity, instead of pulling off this iPod touch and iPod classic crap.

The iPod classic looks nice, though, and you get 80GB for a relatively low price, so I guess I'll just go with that.

Thats just what I was thinking, I'm gonna start encoding the whole series of bleach into mp4 so its ready to go right on once I buy mine.

Good timing, too. I was tired of having to select what i was adding and removing from my 30 gig. Definitely time for an upgrade.

I was making my mind up on whether I should get the new ipod nano, then I realized for 50 bucks more I could get the 80 gig classic, and i also realized that my itunes library wasn't as small as i thought. Why the fuck would anybody buy the 8 gig nano when you can get an 80 gig classic for 50 bones more? I hate the freakin prices of everything that has to do with the ipod. The crappy white headphones are 40 dollars, and theyre really not good at all. A simple arm band is 50 dollars. The old shuffle with no screen was 80 bones, while a docking station for it was also 80 dollars? With that said I'll probly still get a black classic and I'll probably still love it.

How's the compatibility with PC programs? For instance - can I run BitComet on MacOS?

I need you recommendation: I'm buying a new computer. It will be primarily used as a tool for learing and writing, as I don't have enough time to play computer games. It would be also a good thing for it to be portable, because I live in a different city during week and I'd like to carry my comp everywhere I go. I a MacBook a good buy compared to Windows based computers?

If Microsoft made the ZunePhone it'd probably look like this.

If you're going to use it for school and not for games, then you can't go wrong with a MacBook. As for BitComet, I used that on my PC back then, but since I got a Mac, I use Transmission.

Thanks. So I'll probably get one of those. Another plus is that they keep their value relativelly high so when you sell them, you can still get significantly more than for a comparable PC. At least that's how the things work around here.

Edit:
It seems like my English is getting worse and worse with time passed.

^It works exactly the same here in Italy. They're still selling G5's at stores at just a little less than the newer Intel Macs.

EDIT: Steve Jobs offers 7,000$ in-store credit to Apple Lisa owners.

Wow, 7,000 bucks, just wow.

Not at all, but it's fine. I know English isn't your first language, so I assumed there was some sort of comprehention error or something, and I jumped on it like George Bush on a foreign country.

I have trouble with comprehension on these forums sometimes as well.

I just had to nit-pick. It was too ironic with someone talking about English not being someone else's first language.

Apple's going to be releasing OS X Leopard (10.5) at the end of October. We all know the new features, but the overlooked stuff that I found to be awesome is this:

• TextEdit: OpenDocument and Word 2007 Formats
• Grammar Check
• Scroll Non-Active Windows
• Printer Drivers via Software Update
• PDF Manipulation in Preview
• SMS Forwarding
• Wikipedia in Dictionary

In addition to the other major features, it's only $115, so it's definitely worth upgrading.

For anyone that's interested, here's the whole list of new features. That's 300+!

Cyanide, I don't know for sure because I'm getting my first Mac in November, but I heard the "scroll non-active windows" is featured in Tiger also.

Besides the Wikipedia and SMS Forwarding features I'm really looking forward to see Core Animation in action.
Steve Jobs demonstrated it in the Leopard keynote back in June (he minimized a window in slow motion mode I think) and it's all I can think about since then. Eye-candy!

Joe, did you get your iMac yet?

For those with Tiger, Apple has released another update (10.4.11) that's 131 MB supposedly improving everything across and updating Safari to version 3 (assuming they got the bugs fixed!)

I just got my iMac with Leopard preinstalled yesterday. 20-inch model with the faster 2.4 Ghz processor, an extra gig of memory and a bigger hard drive (320 GB). I also got a new external USB drive (500 GB) for an extra €89, so I can use Time Machine and store all those TV shows I got on my older drive.

It's been only two days and it's like I've been using this computer for years. It's amazing!

For you who already has Leopard, is it as good as I think it is?
From watching the movies on Apple, it looks mighty fine. :) I'm thinking of buying it for my MacBook, just got to save up some money first...

Sacke12: Leopard is definitely worth the upgrade, but personally, I would wait until version 10.5.2 or later as they usually get most of the bugs fixed by then. I think they're at 10.5.1 right now, so it's only a matter of time.
