Second half of this Ghana v. Germany match has been bananas foster. Exciting stuff. I know I should be rooting for a German W, but it's hard to root against this Ghana squad.

Miroslav Klose ties Ronaldo on 15 world cup goals.
Ronaldo Scored his 15th World Cup goal against Ghana in Germany, while Klose scored his 15th World Cup goal against Ghana in Brazil.

So, the big US Portugal match is coming up. I am torn as I want both teams to advance. so hopefully Portugal wins and both teams win next week to advance

So Wayne Rooney made an apology for their failed efforts to England supporters through social media, most of the replies were......so much hate.
Iran team giving free Persian rugs to every team they play against.

lol at the Belgian supporter in the crowd falling asleep watching the Belgium-Russia match.
Can't blame him, Belgians are shite in their matches and when regulation time is nearing to an end that's the only time they decide to play football and get the win.

As weird as it sounds, I actually think we have a chance of beating Spain tonight. Well, if the two teams play the same way as they have so far in this tournament again.
Cahill is a big loss. We will probably bring in a quick player so we have 3 speedsters up front to try and take advantage of the space that the Spanish fullbacks will leave when they go forward. Should be an exciting match with two attacking teams.

Winner:I like Spain to win it so Spain it is.
Runner-Up:Brazil or maybe Germany.
Top Scorer:Torres (lol), I think it will be Suarez or Ronaldo.
Best Player:I want Suarez to win this one.
Best Young Player (U21):Lukaku
Best Goalkeeper:Iker Casillas
Big name not getting out of the group stage:England I think. Italy might just squeeze out of the group though.
Gonna take a look back at my predictions. Winner is a massive failure. I'm still waiting for Ronaldo to score. Lukaku look like he is not gonna win it. Casillas already conceded 7 goals. I'm right at England but Spain is a bigger name not getting out of the group stage.

Stupid cable showing the no bearing match between Spain and Australia instead of Netherlands-Chile.
Aussies being whooped 0-3. Too late for Spain to realize that they used the wrong starting XI in their first two matches or maybe the Aussies have lost the fight in them. Quitters.

Boom boom shake the room. Gonna be a toughie against Mexico I think, their goalkeeper was pretty amaz-e-balls against Brazil.
Tue Jun 24, 2014 11:43 am
But Brazil doesn't have Robben and RVP

I don't think they were quitters. It's just hard to play against a team like Spain because they always have the ball.
They brought Fabregas, Silva and Mata off the bench. We can't compete with that depth of talent.
Despite the 3 losses I'm happy with how Australia went. I seriously expected us to lose all 3 games 6-0 (like we did against Brazil and France last year). I didn't expect us to score. Our young players handled themselves fairly well and the future looks more promising.
We host the Asian Cup next year and I'm looking forward to it now.

Italy - Uruguay, Buffon doing good so far. Must be the pink glove, left glove is blue.
Marchisio red card...
Fucking Suarez should just play instead of doing his tricks again.
No wonder the ball went in for Uruguay, it was on the side of the blue glove. The pink glove is where it's at.

Suarez biting someone again this time Chiellini. I thought he changed after his suspension from biting Ivanovic but I guess some things never change. Who would've thought that Costa Rica will pass this group and top it. Another disappointing run from the Italians after their win in 2006.

That penalty against Ivory Coast is bullshite.

After a brilliant season that changed lots of people's opinions of him, he goes and undoes all that with another inexplicable act. I really don't understand what goes on in his head.

He seems like a guy who needs to win at all costs and when things are looking bad he loses control and does something stupid.
It seems that teams from the Americas are doing well. People were talking about them having an advantage because it was a "local" world cup. Maybe it's true.
Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay and Costa Rica are all through to the knock-out stage.
USA and Argentina look good to join them. Ecuador probably have to beat France to make it. Only Honduras are sucking.
On the other hand the Asian teams have only managed 3 draws so far.
Next round:
Brazil vs Chile
Netherlands vs Mexico
Colombia vs Uruguay
Costa Rica vs Greece
Thu Jun 26, 2014 2:14 am
Colombia's going to own Uruguay so hard, Suarez can't bite them all.
I want Costa Rica to pwn Greece. Greece got lucky to advance because of that penalty from their own stupid player trying to do a rabona or just kicked his own feet to dive himself.
Thu Jun 26, 2014 12:29 pm
Shaqiri gets the second hat-trick of the world cup and gets Switzerland through.
He is apparently close to signing for Liverpool. Hopefully Argentina knock them out so it can happen faster.

Messi and Neymar battling for player of the tournament. Although I'd give it to James Rodriguez from Colombia so far. What a talent he is.

Oh and how unlucky was that Nigerian guy. Gets a broken arm from his own player's shot. Ouch.

wtf is velvet bliss...
My man Phil making the WC thread.

I did watch the key matches this WC. It has been an interesting event so far.
Ultra lolz @Spain tiki taka clusterfuck and Casillas not playing in 3rd match. Italy not making it to the 2nd round probably the biggest shocker so far. No comments on England and Rooney. Will CR7 do another Sweden and take Portugal to the 2nd round? Germany are more likely to give USA a good ass beating given their shame with Ghana. Don't understand why they didn't bring on Klose to play against Portugal. It would easily have been 16 by now. Brazil Ronaldo cursing in his head and tweeting grats to Klose after that 15th goal. Suarez should be banned for life from football. It's like fucking Dothraki playing football. Lolz at Argentina and Brazil playing against easy teams and Messi and Neymar being sexy top scorer buddies. #GoMuller #GoRobben
So far, it looks like Germany, Netherlands, France or Costa Rica will take it home.
And lastly, the most memorable quotes in this thread:

If players dive they shouldn't act like they stepped on a landmine and lost a leg then get up like nothing happened.
FALCAO SIGHTING ON THE CROWD! LOOKS LIKE JESUS WITH SHADES ON! DEAL WITH IT.
Mexican goalie doing fantastic work like he's border patrol keeping the ball out as if it was Mexican.
So Mexico is down 352-0?
Gervinho pwning 4 fags for the goal to keep Ivory Coast alive
And the whole messed up benji prediction.

Vamos Argentina!

Luis Suarez banned for 4 months.
The punishment is the most severe ever handed out at a World Cup but the striker does have the right to appeal and is allowed to transfer clubs during the four month period.
Suarez is also "prohibited from entering the confines of any stadium" during his ban and must pay a fine of 100,000 Swiss Francs -- $111,000.
There goes Uruguay's chances and 3 months of Liverpool football without him.
Fri Jun 27, 2014 2:35 am
FIFA can eat a bag of dicks.
I'm not angry that he got banned, he deserves it. I'm just pissed that FIFA are punishing Liverpool for something that happened whilst he was playing for Uruguay. They make up these bans as they go along.
If Barcelona offer £60m + Alexis Sánchez I say cash in and move on. He's a ticking time bomb.
