iPod's....

Rock, I just got me a 40 gig today. I suggest to get an iPod if you are interested in Mp3 players.

What's that, like 20,000 songs? By the time you get through them all, half of them probably won't be living anymore.

But they're too expensive. My Palm Zire stores about 300 songs on my SD card. That's enough for me.

yeah i got a really cheap mp3 player when they first came out that holds about 30 min of music, like 20 bucks. good enough for me.

but i can understand the appeal, i suppose. i just don't really have the need for portable music- if i'm out of the house, i'm usually doing something that i wouldn't want music in my ears during

I think it's amazing that iPod's and Xbox's are the same price. I know what i'd chose.

You could get 2 xbox's the price of a 40gig ipod hehe

I'm happy with my Dell DJ -- 15GB. I bought it towards the end of their First Generation models, so it was cheap -- only $150. Thats $100 less than a 20GB Ipod(yeah, 5GB less, but it's not as if I'm even gonna fill it up). Its battery life kills that of the Ipod, at the expense of being a few ounces heavier.

The Second Generation DJ's are sick though. The Pocket DJ, Dell's equivalent of the Ipod mini, is 1GB more, pretty much the same size, and is $50 dollars cheaper. Their 20GB is $80 cheaper.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of seeing everyone with their Ipods. I'm staying away from the trend. Whenever I whip out my DJ, people laugh at it. I'm like, "Dude, I've got 20 hour battery life on this." All they can say is, "Well, at least mine looks better." Pff...who cares?

Ipods = overrated! There's so much else out there.

Yeah they do look pretty shit. The most important thing to me would be battery life, and the fact that I can't really afford to fork out $500AUS for some little white thing that'll inevitebly break, or will get stolen at some point.

That's exactly why I burn CD's or make playlists on my PC. I'd rather do that than pay $200 or such for a little doohickie that basically does the same thing.

on Amazon its $491.99, but i have searched around and have found it as low as 300 bucks

won one in that Pepsi promo that was going on about half a year back....it's the best 2 bucks I've ever spent

I would never pay $400 or $500 for one though....

i use a good ol portable CD player that plays MP3's, all i need it for is for the trip from home to uni and back....i manage to listen to 40 of the 120 songs on the CD in a day so it's all good.

I recenently brought a 512MB mp3 player which holds around 130 songs and that is enough for me, I did however have my sites set on a 20 GB Creative Zen Touch. But when I found out the price of that in Australia I was put off by it.

Good pickup ....I have a 20 gig iPod for about 6 months right now and I love it. The only thing I hated were the original earplugs which were broken after 2 weeks. I got myself the Apple In-Ear headphones and they are amazing. Once you put them on, you hear nothing around you.

Just dont get it stolen.

i treid to get a 20 gig one but i am really angry cause nowhere has it and my parents refuse to get it online... and i dont want a ipod mini cause they kinda look like shit. i might just get a 126 MB or whatever other type of mp3 player if they still have it in stock... stupid ass target.

Do the Dell DJs play the type of song you get when you one off of the iTunes music store? I'm thinking of buying an iPod, but if the DJs are cheaper and play the same thing, mine as well save $$$>
