game looks sick. wont lie, have not played a metal gear game since the first on the playstation (awesome btw) but i will have to try this one out. i can be sold fairly easily on open world games as they provide me the most bang for my buck so making it open world and adding the stealth elements just sounds great to me.

Yeah I played all of them and they are by far my favorite game series... If you do get the game expect to be fairly confused as the story is insanely complex and hard to follow even when you have played the others. If you're interested, I recommend getting the HD collection which as 2 and 3 as well as playing MGS4. If you liked the 1st one, the others ones are even better.

I updated the video to the directors cut... With all the taboos featured in this game I'm a little worried it will have trouble being released. There will at least be a lot of controversy, especially as far as the child soldier aspect goes.

 They can actually make a full-length CG movie out of Fox Engine.

I've only played MGS and MGS2, sadly. And I'm pretty lost on the seemingly complicated story.

Says deeper stealth action and yet sound aspect of stealth isn't properly utilized.

PC release confirmed at some point, most likely awhile after the game comes out on consoles.

Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain have also been confirmed they will ship as one game, MGS5, and not separate.

I hope they did this in their earlier main games. MGS3 is still something I wanted to play.

The story is indeed very confusing, but if you have a ps3 you can download the Metal Gear Database and from there you can read info on characters, events, etc. You should play MGS3 too since many consider it to be the best in the series.

You can also get the upcoming Legacy Collection which includes 2 digital graphic novels. I think I'll be buying that just to replay all of them again.

Kojima said that if you want to start to get into the MGS series, 3 is the best place to start. I'm thinking of getting the HD collection but that Legacy Collection is bargain, all four main MGS game + the PSP game + extras with a graphic novel that I guess sums up the series.

End of any racist discussion.

Yep I think the story chronologically begins with MGS3.
