Sounds like a convenient coincidence to me.

"Willy Wonka hates children--that there sets him apart from Michael Jackson."

That's not how the character was portrayed in the original book, nor the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, so I'd disagree with that. If anything, Willy Wonka's fondness of children and some of the childlike antics of the character support the Michael Jackson theory, though Willy Wonka's appreciation for children has never been portrayed as the appreciation of children Wacko Jacko has been accused of having.

I've seen the ad for the new Willy Wonka movie a few times. Johnny Depp freaks the shit out of me, he's such a child molester in that movie.

yep, apparantly the director wanted Marilyn Manson for the role, but backers wouldn't back that move so to speak....

haven't seen the new movie yet, but saw the trailers, and damn, Johnny Depp does look real freaky....more of a horror movie character....really cooky....the type of person you wouldn't want to be flatting with (come on guys, we've all lived with one person like this, although never for long enough to find out )....

A fun fact: in the original book, the Oompa Loompas were meant to be black people, from faraway jungles in Africa. This caused controversy, obviously people saying it was racist. So Roald Dahl changed their appearance to the funky green hair and orange skin we are used to see.

from what i heard, marilyn manson is the one who has some kind of 'infatuation' with willy wonka. when he was howard stern, he was talked about this. he even wore a hat like willy wonka's in one of his videos

I one heard Roald Dahl hated the way the movie turned out. Strange given that it's considered a classic these days, not in the same sense as a Casablanca or Gone With The Wind, but it's one of those old kids movies they'll show every so often.
