I'm a new beginner, Ive had friends that have been helping though.

cut out your pictures and get rid of the white around some of the letters of Lakers. Look around for some tutorials on how to get some cool effects for the background.

Very basic but not bad. Zoom in on the Lakers Logo and use the Magic Wand tool to select the white parts in the logo, and then delete them. Also cut around the players to take out the background (either with the Pen Tool on "Paths" or the Eraser). Then you can start working on making better background, just try looking for some tutorials that make some cool looking backgrounds with filters.

The kid seems demented, I don't think he would have "average" in his vocabulary.
