Real Madrid or Barcelona?

Postby 'Melo on Sat Apr 09, 2005 7:41 pm

Who do you'll think win the Supa Classico between R. Madrid and Barcelona? My bets are on R. Madrid 2-1 or 3-1. Yes, I am from Madrid but I actually support Atletico de Madrid more than Real Madrid. (I just support Real in the Champions League and Raul.) Your thoughts?

Real Madrid: 3, (Owen, Ronaldo, Helguera)

Barcelona: 1, (Eto'o)

Why Helguera, he has been on fire in the past games

This win or lose for Madrid, it won't make a difference to the title hopes, the title is Barcelona's.

David Beckham thinks Real can still catch Barcelona, although he's not really known as the most intelligent guy in the World...

Real peaked a few seasons back, without good signings and a continued idiotic idea about that you can win without a proper defense makes them a non-factor come next year. They will be up there, but not contenting.

Barca on the other hand continues the revitalization of the club with smart signings to an already excellent core. With a few good youngsters also joinging the club I think they will take the league again.

Real 2-3 Barca.

Their defense is good enough on paper... Carlos - Samuel - Woodgate - Salgado ... admittedly Woodgate didn't play last season, but they look good... it's just the fact that they play such a full on attacking style with Carlos and Salgado being like extra strikers or something it screws up the whole concept of defending.

The fact that they NEVER played defensivly since the superstar-era started talks against them. That and the headcase-ness of Woodgate and the fallout of Samuel... Well.

I see Samuel going back to Italy, and Woodgate flopping another year then returning to England (where Owen also is headed...).

Defence first, that wins championships is todays footie.

Woodgate was injured the entire season, I don't think it was really flopping or "headcase-ness"... it's not something he could really control. I'd be happy for Inter to take Samuel though.

I'm talking about his previous idiotic behavior in England. His injuries is another thing that's a bad sign, he never seems to completly shake any injury.

The club/him/his agent always says they're completly treated, and yet they always seem to come back.

Not to rack on either Woodgate or Samuel really, they're both good defenders but Samuel obviously needs to adjust NOW or get out, and a few but big questionmarks surrounds Woodgate.

And wasn't Helguera on his way to England? I've heard a few, but pretty well gournded rumours of him moving.

Oh yeah Woodgate came from that nuthouse they have running at Newcastle United. I'm not sure about Helguera, although that's where most of their older guys end up... Hierro, Campo etc.

Woodgate was actually his worst at Leeds, post-excellene in the CL.

Am I the only one shedding tears that Footballs most protruding ears is no more?
