The Definitive NBA Court Design Power Rankings (Grantland)

This is actually a year old, but since it was mentioned in Zach Lowe's article for this offseason (best logos), and I don't think it's really come up here before, it's something to talk about while we wait for the season to begin.

The Definitive NBA Court Design Power Rankings

About a year ago, I attempted a nonscientific ranking of all 30 team nicknames. This year, I’ve turned to something dearer to my NBA fiend soul: court designs, perhaps the closest thing the NBA has to large-scale works of art. The rankings are subjective, though I’ve consulted with sources across the league just for the fun of it, gotten my hands on some exclusive mock-ups of designs set to be unveiled this season, and even chatted with some court designers.

Their Top 5

  1. Los Angeles Lakers
  2. Boston Celtics
  3. Charlotte Hornets
  4. Brooklyn Nets
  5. Chicago Bulls

Their Bottom 5

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers
  2. Phoenix Suns
  3. Houston Rockets
  4. Oklahoma City Thunder
  5. Minnesota Timberwolves

Again, it'd be fun to do some rankings of our own.
