NEW YORK, Nov. 3 – New Orleans’ Baron Davis and Seattle’s Rashard Lewis were today named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Tuesday, October 28 through Sunday, November 2.
Davis led the Hornets to a 3-0 record by averaging 24.7 points, 8.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 5.00 steals.

Lewis led the SuperSonics to a 2-0 record while they opened the season in Japan. In two games he averaged 37.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

:o I didn't know that Baron is averaging 5 steals per game...Lewis is on the rise!

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Boston’s Vin Baker, Chicago’s Tyson Chandler, Detroit’s Ben Wallace, Indiana’s Al Harrington, Los Angeles Lakers’ Karl Malone and Gary Payton, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, New Jersey’s Jason Kidd, Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson, Phoenix’s Stephon Marbury, Toronto’s Vince Carter and Washington’s Jarvis Hayes.

When did you last see Skinny Vinny as a nominee for Eastern Conference player of the week?

So many players that have contributed to this league, so little awards to give out. I just want to see Kidd get something this year for bringing the Nets from muck to greatness, and I cant forget my main man K-MArt!
