LeBron James is hyped up crap and his team stinks!

Postby paul_pierce_the_truth on Tue Oct 14, 2003 5:54 pm

Looking at the ESPN and TNT schedule of games, I can't believe how many games has the Cavs vs. whomever.

ATTENTION: THE CLEVELAND CAVS SUCK!

Just because LeBron is this hype machine, doesn't mean EVERYONE wants to see him over and over. Couldn't just set him up with a few games here and there, say once a month or something, or just like 4 times for the year? I mean do we have to watch Ricky Davis, Darius Miles and LeBron make a complete mockery of fundamental basketball every other freaking day?

I know I have said before how LeBron is better than Darko Milicic, that is still true. But he is not better than the Boston vs. Orlando or even better than watching such teams as the upstart Bulls.

The commericalism and sell-outs can really be predictable and just downright boring.

I am going on the record to predict Cleveland gets the crap kicked out of them in 90% of the games on TV and do not win 25 games this year.

You're right but the thing is the NBA has a downward TV ratings every year. I think the NBA will use Lebron to boost their ratings up eventhough he and his team is not that good.

I have to agree with The Truth. I think the expectation is high for him but common there are other games that ESPN and TNT that can be look forward than having the Cavs. They did that with the Wizards and MJ the past two seasons.

he's just a rookie ya know...

look at jermaine o'neal when he missed that open dunk as a blazer and did so many TO's that the blaz don want him to play no more, then look at him now...

let's wait for some time for him to learn the pro game, grant hill was a premiere player once, and so was Penny, they aren't really good as they were before...

in one point i agree witchu that too much cavs hype could end up fans' love for the game (N)...

The schedule is simply what the NBA thinks people want to see. Personally...with all the hype I want to see every Cavs game...if only to decide for myself and see how the kid develops. I like the schedule and I have a feeling that the Cavs games are going to pull in high ratings...

Also...the Cavs have tons of talent. Wagner, Miles and Lebron all have potential to be All-Stars. Ricky Davis is good enough already. Boozer is a good rebounder and they have arguably the best center in the East. The only thing they're missing is a playmaker...but making the playoffs for them is just a matter of proper teaching and will to play defense...

They did that with the Wizards and MJ the past two seasons.

Those were some of the grossest displays of basketball ever!
I don't know who's better, 41-year-old Michael Jordan or this hypemachine LeBron James.

Actually I believe the sorriest day of Wizards basketball with Jordan is much better than Darius Miles, Ricky Davis and LeBron James dunking and fisting their heads, pee-u!! :x

I didn't say anyone was expecting anything like a winning season from James and Cavaliers (very dead-on nickname). Comparing him to Jermaine O'Neal years ago is not only outside the point (they didn't show every other Blazers game to display O'Neal) it's way off. LeBron was taken NUMBER ONE OVERALL and is expected to come along well before his 5th or 6th season. By comparison there is no comparison.

Maybe when Darius and LeBron are 25, the Cavs will be good. I think that's like 2009 or something.

Give me good teams, not bullshit. If every slobbering moron only can pay attention to hyped up shit like Michael Jordan in a Wizards uniform or some child star like Bron, then basketball is seriously in trouble.

I consider myself a heavy basketball fan, and everytime they showed a Wizards game, I was watching something else.

At least with LeBron we won't get an old washed-up version of himself, at the very least we have no choice, everything he does will the first time, of course it will be stared and gawked at like it means something, which it for certain does not.

I think if we watched anyteam play this season we would see a mockery of fundamental basketball. Watch Jazz and Celtic games on ESPN classic if you wantr to see this, but I do agree they are on TV a lot and so was the Rockets, and they aren't so great.
You make a good arguement Truth.

The league's just trying to further capitalize on LeBron. But I guess they have to show some games of Eastern teams, as bad as they may be. We just to live with it, I guess.

"Lebron is hyped up crap"? What the fuck? becuase his team is young? Geeze.. you say he isnt fundamentally sound? But, pp, he is only 18. KG, TMac, AI, Stephon.. all of these guys their fundamentals didnt come around for a good 3 or 4 years. Dont do the opposite of overhyping, which is hating.. and as for this comment:
But he is not better than the Boston vs. Orlando

Isn't it possible you might be a smidgen bit biased?

and getting all the hype up in the summer league and preseason, with the no look, behind the band, nah. nothing doing in the regular season, the cavs are going nowhere, and neither is lebron he's too hyped up... lets just sit back and watch him fall.

Well one guy cant take a team and tottally turn it around.. i dont know what to expect out of lebron. He could play like Amare and get ROY, or he could be like Tmac and struggle early on.. But from what I've seen, he will be among the east's best players individually imo.. but we just have to wait and see.

First of all, Iverson and Marbury are not the same as McGrady and Garnett. Ivy and Marbury played a couple of years of college ball and were much more ready to play than Garnett or McGrady in their first year.

Also Iverison was a serious number one pick overall, who delivered.
Not all First Overall Picks are hyped like this. (Michael Olowokandi and Kwame Brown come to mind)

If LeBron is not fundamentally sound yet, not a great player yet, they should telecast his games when he is. I have to miss good games involving real teams to watch this bullshit Cavs crapola.

Boston vs. Orlando is an example of two good teams with serious superstars.

Saying I mentioned Boston as bias is a cheap and non-thinking blow, by the way the Celtics are good and I expect to see good teams more on the regular, not some showboatin' head tapping horseshit coming from Cleveland. They suck and it's a complete sell-out to show them this often.

Paul Pierce, lol, relax buddy
I used Marbury and iverson in the same group as KG and Tmac becuase Iverson and Marbury went to college, but when they first came out they were fundamentally sound either.
Lebron has the ability to send shockwaves through the league... if amare can then why cant Lebron? He wont play upto his potential this season, but he maybe very exciting and show glimpses of a promising future ala Grant Hill in his rookie season in the 95

And also what is wrong with showing a developing Cleveland team on espn? I'm happy they are becuase I want to see him against the best in the world, and how he handles it.Lol.. and what i said wasnt a blow   It was a suggestion... and if you weretruely concerned with watching the best possible basketball why arent you complaining that espn has decided to show games that doesnt include the Lakers, Spurs, Kings, Mavs, Twolves and Nets? They are the best teams, and most fundamentally sound ballclubs that execute the best... which is what you are really concerned with right? So why not complain that espn has to decided to show games of other teams who are clearly not on their level?

Hmm lets weigh it up... do we watch the new excitement machine in Lebron (however much he might blow, people wanna find out for themselves), or do we watch Antoine Walker shoot 0-11 from down town?

Do you guys understand that it's not about showing Cleveland at all, it's about showing them more than good teams.

I am talking about games that start at 8:00pm Eastern.

The Spurs, Lakers and Western teams do not start at this time.

I believe New Jersey has plenty of games on, as much as Cleveland I think.

If you do not understand my point, nevermind.

Is LeBron James better than Antoine Walker?

The Cavs are playing the Lakers tonight at 10:30...I'm going to watch.

If it was the Celtics against the Lakers...no way in hell I'd watch.

Plain and simple.

If I didn't have school tomorrow, I'd watch a full Lakers game for sure. Just to see Gary Payton, my favorite player. If it were the Lakers versus the Cavs, or the Lakers versus the Celtics, I'd watch both, so I can see Gary Payton. I'd most likely watch the Celts since I live in Boston, so I guess that's something we disagree on.
