Jazz won Dallas as we know...

Memphis vs Milwaukee

Memphis won, Miller 21, Battier 10 and Pau 21.

Ford played well, 15, 7 and 5 but 5 turnovers..not bad for a rookie I guess (Y).

lebron played a well rounded game, everybody seemed to be pleasantly surprised about his maturity, not tryin to force things, i like that (y). Unfortunately darko's debut wasnt as good but he doesnt really have to produce and a longer learning process then king james.
It appeared that Wade was amazing, so far so good for the heat :D .
Dallas and Knicks' rookies did a fine job, overall the rookies did pretty well imo. I also like Randolph and Woods' stats with the blazers(only i would like to see Derek on the court more often, he should seek a trade or something). Other performances i'd like to mention : Giricek (y) (y)
5/7 3's, stoudemire's big game and martin was solid. I like the way the preseason is going right now

Wed Oct 08, 2003 8:08 pm

Wed Oct 08, 2003 10:01 pm

Just saw some Highlights of the Lakers-Warriors game....Shaq looks much different, close to his Orlando games, but more muscles, not fat....he really lost weight and bulked up in the same time....Gary Payton had like 5 Assists in 5 minutes, Malone showed his signature move...(elbow :D)....nice follow-up dunk after a Payton miss....Slava played well from the bench shooting 7-8 in 13 minutes....cant w8 when Kobe joins them :P

Thu Oct 09, 2003 12:01 am

Just to let everyone know, Lakers beat the Warriors: 107 to 89. Neither the box score nor the recap have been posted, I think it's too early, look for me to post it a little later. Anyways I'm going to sleep...latrz.

i think its against the wizards

Darko is going to probably have a Kwame Brown-like rookie year. He's not under the pressures of Kwame but Larry Brown is trying to force him to play a different way...just like Doug Collins did to Kwame. Brown said that Darko "wants to be Toni Kukoc...I want him to be Bill Russell"...which is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard him say. One...you already have Ben Wallace...and Two you drafted the kid for his offensive skills.

Oh...and Lebron is apparently the real deal. Only 8 points...but 7 assists, 3 boards and 2 blocks from an 18 year old? You don't get assists by being bigger or stronger than everyone else...you have to know how to play...

HA! plays ONE PRESEASON GAME and already he's the REAL DEAL.. you've got to be kidding me. let's not forget the 4-12 shooting performance. 7 assists, not bad.

let the lebron james hype begin (again)

Thu Oct 09, 2003 6:34 am

lebron´s very strong side is passing, man how he passes the ball.
i think he´s year will be 16.5 ppg, 8.7 assists per game, and 4 or 5 rebs per game.

LEBRON is king.

I'm also looking at the summer league games and all the other stuff that's been on TV this year. The preseason game being the latest evidence.

Let the hate begin (again)

Lebron's strength is passing..he can make his team better- don't worry about scoring cause his job is to make his team-mates better...I think that an 18 year old who passes and is non-selfish, in the process of making his team-mates score is pretty damn good! forget about scoring cause passing can make someone great! (Look at Magic! He wasn't a good scorer- But hell can he pass!)

BTW...Kwame did decent in Wizards Game...he top scored!

Let the hate begin (again)

i want the guy to succeed and will be happy for the guy if he succeeds. but the way the nba and media shove this guy down our throats, it makes it less enjoyable to watch this work in progress. the nba isn't in a transitional stage as it was when jordan first retired. back then i remember the nba and media tried to shove grant hill, penny, etc down our throats. but now, the league is doing fine in terms of superstar quality, we don't need this all this hype

i don't want this turn into a double edged sword for the guy: if indeed james becomes one of the best players to ever play, the media will say "of course, this is what all the hype was for. we expected him to succeed".
or if he doesn't succed, the media will say "just another high schooler with a lot promise that should have went to college"

Fri Oct 10, 2003 5:21 am

Kwame is at a great start. This year I think he'll average more than 15 points a game.

LeBron isn't going to rack it up just with his first two games. Give him some time to develop. It's mainly the media's fault that he's so hyped up. So many people have expectations for him. When Kobe or T-Mac started their first season, they weren't extremely good players. It took them a couple of years to turn into superstars. Speaking realisticly though, LeBron is definitely going to have a tough time in the NBA during his first few months.
