Manning is a two time NBA All-Star who ends his career with more than 12,000 points, 4,500 rebounds and 2,000 assists. He earned the 1997-98 NBA Sixth Man Award while a member of the Phoenix Suns. Manning is not only leaving his mark on the court; he will also go down in history as one of the few athletes in sports to have overcome three separate ACL injuries.

No, he never won a title. But he did lead the Clippers to the playoffs, was the first overall pick in 1988, and in 1994 the Hawks were so eager to get him they were willing to trade Dominique Wilkins (still an All-Star calibre player at the time).

Derrick Coleman is now the oldest former first overall pick in the league (1990).

Larry Johnson retired a few years ago, there's no first overall picks from the 80s left...it would be Shaq (1992).

and then it would be Webber after Shaq, then there would come Glenn Robinson and Joe Smith can still show that he was worth being the number 1 pick in 1995 cause he is only 27 years old :? and joined the Bucks who needed Joe's kind a big man...

well Grant Hill was there too..and Bucks didnt take Kidd because Kidd had the worst jump shot in the draft and if im right kidd even strugled against Avery Johnson to get a fg in the 1999 playoffs (correct me if im wrong about the year) about Robinson he is a a great player (hasnt never failed to score fewer than 20 ppg in a season) ,he wouldve been a 25-28 ppg scorer but after few years in a league Sam Cassell(or was Cassell allready there) and Ray Allen joined the team and he was the 20 point guy a 2nd-3rd option in the scoring not the first one same was in Atlanta 2nd option in the scoring (and 2 great players besides him ,just like in Milwaukee) now he is with the sixers and again he is the 2nd option in the scoring but there isnt any 3rd 17-20 point scorer like in Milwaukee or Atlanta, yeah AI is there but i see Robinson scoring 23-24 ppg.

Glen Robinson was worthy of rookie of the year honours I believe, but playing in Milequakee probably had an affect on his popularity etc.

As for Danny Manning, a solid, though injury riddled career for him. Congrats to him I suppose! (y)

Both Robinson and Kidd were turnover prone when they entered the log (Big Dog actually lead the league in turnovers in his rookie season), and Kidd's offensive game was not as refined as it is today. At the time Grant Hill looked like he should have been the top pick, though given his injury woes if the 1994 draft was held again today, Kidd would be the top pick.

I believe he was, and won it with Ason if I'm not mistaken.
