Possible Trade: Artest for Barry

Artest for Barry in works

Seems like Larry Bird isn't willing to tolerate Artest's outbursts. Barry's contract would come off the books at the end of the season, and he's a decent replacement in the lineup for the short team. The Pacers would likely miss Artest's defense though.

For Seattle, the trade wouldn't be so bad either. They could move Lewis to power forward and start Artest, or Artest could backup Lewis and Allen, occasionally playing alongside both. I don't think a starting backcourt of Allen and Artest would work, as neither are suited to the point guard position and I don't think Lewis is capable of being the primary ballhandler either. Allen has the skills to play the point, but doing so might take away from his offensive output.

Your thoughts?

i don't believe anything that comes out of peter vecsey or the ny media. if anyone does though, i have some property to sell to you...

IMO, it would make more sense for SEA to trade for harrington. getting artest would give SEA a lineup's worth of sf's. harrington can play pf, a position SEA needs to fill

hard to predict whats going on in legend's mind. for crying out loud, the guy shows no emotion after the play when miller pushed off jordan to hit the eventual game winner. i guess though barry would be a decent addition seeing how he's a good, steady team player. but i'm guessing indy could get a better deal then this one

Well I heard J. O'Neal said he wont suit up if Artest is still on the team...This was said on "The Best Damn Sports Show Period", during the Richard Jefferson segment...I think Chris Rose(?) or John Salley said it.

theres no way that indiana should do this unless they have barry starting SG, but i can't see them benching miller..
- artest better than barry
- tinsley better pg than barry
- barry better sg than miller

seattle would benefit with the addition of artest and would start antonio daniels at pg

What? Artest still hasn't been kicked out of the league? I'm gonna be in a bad mood for the rest of the day now.
