Jordan should buy one of the existing franchises. I'd like to see him buy the Clippers though. He's one of the richest people in the world and could probably meet Sterling's price (if he decides to sell it).

MJ probably won't be an owner in the immediate future, as it seems he's looking to be a majority owner and no one is looking (publically, at least) to sell controlling interest in their team right now.

Well MJ would be good in Chicago because he can run things from... *drumroll* Chicago. Any other franchise, and there'd be complaints that he's not involved enough because he's running things from home. I don't think there's anything with the Bulls he could do though, and he probably wouldn't except a minor type of position (or maybe he would for a short period?). Reinsdorf will never sell up either, a franchise that sucks in the standings yet is one of the league's best in attendance is pretty rare. They're on the way up too

Reinsdorf might sell, but not a controlling interest. But yeah, with Paxson in charge of basketball operations, there isn't really a role for MJ at this time.

what about if Benny the Bull retires?

I suppose if MJ was patient he could buy into the Bulls now (if Reinsdorf was to sell a piece of the pie), and maybe eventually be allowed to purchase a controling share.

I don't know if MJ would want that though. He wouldn't have much of a role for some time, and he seems pretty intent on being involved in basketball operations.
