Not sure if anyone's made a thread for them already or if ones already there, but yeah.
Hopefully the Sixers go well this season, they're the only reason I'm getting league pass haha. Hopefully Turner lives up to all the hype!

Oh haha, thanks dude. Sorry!

That thread is too old, IMO. We're not as popular as the Bulls or Lakers.
Well, what do you guys think of Turner? Is he a bust? Too early to tell? Giving bad signs on the court?

Way too early to tell, he hasn't even played a regular season game yet.

He was averaging like 9.4 PPG in the Summer League I think.
Hopefully he turns out well. I heard that our starting five is either one Holiday/Turner/Iggy/Young/Brand or Holiday/Iggy/Young/Brand/Hawes. Depending on whether or not Collins wants to go small.

I like the first roster. Elton Brand will suck wherever he plays, but Young, Turner, and Iggy must start, so Elton will play C. As for Turner being a bust? Definitely way too early. He's been in the NBA only a couple months. He may not be as NBA ready as John Wall or Wesley Johnson, give him a year or two and he'll be up there. There's zero evidence that can be the basis of calling him a bust.
Sat Oct 23, 2010 6:16 pm
I prefer the first roster too, but the only thing I can think of is that Turner wasn't quite productive in an "NBA" game so maybe the Holiday/Iggy/Young/Brand/Hawes starting five would be a better option because that way Turner can slowly grow in to the lineup and have Hawes who already established himself as an NBA center (Not the best center, but one that can play) play in the starting five. This would be better for Turner I think, throwing him straight in the starting five would put a lot of pressure on him to succeed very fast.

They have a good roster, with a bunch of great guards. Just what they needs is a backup PF (Young is SF and Speights is C) like Davis or J-Thomp. Is Brand %100 healthy? I think NO.
Sat Oct 23, 2010 7:54 pm
Brand is at 100%. But 2010-11 Elton Brand at 100% is like 2005-06 Elton Brand at 30%.
Also I know that there are many short centers now days, but I still see Speights as more of a PF than a C.
Sat Oct 23, 2010 8:44 pm
Yeah... Then we can call Speights is F/C. About Brand, it's what I mean. Just missed the times that they lose to Suns in 7 at semi-finals. 2006 Clippers was fantastic.

Too early to tell but showing bad signs off the court by being out of shape for summer camp. That was the excuse given by most people about Turner. By not getting into shape he's the Boris Diaw of guards.
Young is starting!? Nooo!!! I would rather have him as the 6th man playing the forward spots.

No.
No!Shut the fuck up Badger. I don't want a Sixers thread infected with your stupidity. This is not the Miami Heat thread. Stay there.

So you think Iggy at SF and Turner at SG with Young coming off the bench? That could work, but I don't know, I still don't think Turner should be thrown straight into the starting lineup. I'd hate for our pick to bust, but it's way to early to even consider that.

A power forward, seriously? Brand, Speights, Young and Brackins says hi!

Read somewhere if that's the case (Turner not starting), Kapono would be in the starting lineup.
Holiday, Iggy, Kapono, Brand, Hawes.
With Turner playing point for the second unit because Louis Williams playing the point is laughable.
Williams/Turner/Nocioni/Young/Speights

Williams/Turner/Nocioni/Young/Speights

Where's Iggy, Brand, and Holiday?

That's the bench. I'll just assume you misunderstood the construction of my post and not because you are allergic to reading.

Replace Badger with your name and that's it.
Sun Oct 24, 2010 12:24 pm
Wow I never even realised this happened, because of exams I didn't pay attention to pre-season.
Jrue Holiday got a triple-double in a loss against TorontoOk, given. Not the best team to lose to, but still, this shows some good potential for a point guard that isn't named Lou Williams.

Oh. Speights: C, Young: SF, Brackins: OK.
Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:41 pm
Dude, Speights isn't JUST a C he's a PF too.. as is Young! Brackins is a PF as well, so basically we have backup PF's, it's not as if all 3 of them will be on the court at the same time all together? Most of the time at least.
Mon Oct 25, 2010 2:42 am
Young also spent time playing PF the past 2 seasons.
Don't make me quote myself again Badger because of your fucking stupidity.
