In '01-'02 Stack only got 21 a game too...
Players in Utah who are mediocre elsewhere(see Calbert Chaney) goto Utah and overachieve and when they go other places they are not as good. please name one player who has played better AFTER he left Utah...
Bernard King...
Calbert Cheaney didn't overachieve in Utah...he played far far far better when he was in Washington...
I don't see why Russell stinking it up was such a surprise...he already had passed his prime and had stunk it up in Utah the last year, shooting poorly, turning it over like mad, not creating his own shots or beating anyone down the floor...Jordan remembered how good of defender he was in the late-90s when Jordan shoved him away so he could shoot and made yet another horrific front office move in signing him...
I should specificy that was Michael Jordan...Eddie Jordan appears to be somewhat smert...killing the Kwame trade...but then again the drafting of Jarvis Hayes is icky...
Stackhouse resigned because he knew he'd wouldn't get anything better on the open market and Washington is desperate to have some kind of "name" player and a potential All-Star...Washington needs to gut this Franchise and get rid of all the Jordan blunders...the only way is probably contract buyouts...nobody wants to spend $5-6 million a year on Christian Laettner or Jahidi White...
If I was the Washington GM the only players I'd keep from the Dark Days Of The Jordan Regime would be Kwame Brown (because of that damned upside and his contract will run out soon anyway), Larry Hughes (because he would suffice at SG and would build his trade value through a 20 point season), Etan Thomas (because I like him...he should be a beast in this league), Jared Jeffries (upside! upside!) and Bobby Simmons (a gang$ta) everyone else should be jettsoned...I would keep Hayes and Blake because they're new, and plus Blake needs to play point...I might keep Dixon to please Blake, but I wouldn't tell Eddie Jordan to play him...
I'd be very depressed too...considering I could start the season with Tim Duncan/Jermaine O'Neal, Elton Brand, Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant and/or Gilbert Arenas, Brad Miller or Corey Maggette instead of the Finals-bound Haywood, Brown, Hayes, Stackhouse and Hughes crew that Jordan assembled
