Jason Kidd could be a Mav?
As above, What do you guys think? Personally I think Jason should just sign with SA to get a ring.

I think he should stay in New Jersey, but returning to Texas one way or another wouldn't be a terrible career move either. Right now, I think he'll remain a Net, but that could change depending on what happens in the near future (such as whether Scott remains as the Nets' head coach).

Seems to me that (though it probably won't happen) it would be a pretty good move for both teams. Nash could give NJ the outside shot (the shot that was absent throughout the finals, and that was preyed on by the Spurs) that they desperately need. Nash also fits the Nets' running game, since Dallas's type of game is fairly similar.
The same can be said for Kidd, who would go from one running team to another, so the transition wouldn't be problematic. Kidd could give the Mavs some half-court stability too. But one of the main things Kidd could bring to the Mavs is his rebounding capabilities. One of Kidd's main shortcomings is his outside shot (or lack thereof), but the Mavs already have a plethora of outside shooters to knock down those treys. Nash would be more at home in NJ anyway, being from Canada and all anyway

. Though unlikely, it does seem like a pretty equitable trade to me...

why the hell wouldn't sacramento want to trade bibby and turkoglu for kidd!?
Wed Jun 25, 2003 3:33 pm
It would probably be more a case of New Jersey not wanting to make that trade. After all, Kidd is unlikely to sign for what the Kings could offer him (exception or veteran's minimum) so there's no danger of losing him to Sacramento via free agency, hence no reason for New Jersey to consider a sign-and-trade with the Kings.
Similarly, Kidd isn't likely to sign with the Mavs for what they can offer. The Spurs will be able to match the Nets' offers, so they are the team New Jersey has to be the most worried about.

Dont think Kidd gonna be in dallas. It will be Jersey or SA i think, it would be great to see a TD j-kidd -combo but i would also feel sad for the nets, doesnt really matter to me, but what the nets gotta do is learn RJ how to shoot cuz his very ugly jumper didnt get him anywhere in the finals

Should the Kings have the chance to trade Bibby (... is there anyone more overrated?...) and Turkoglu for Kidd through a sign & trade (wouldn't this work cap-wise?) I think it would be foolish not to do it. Bibby might be a younger point, but Webber, Kidd are about the same age, and their opportunity window will start closing pretty fast after next year... And them again, what's the big deal about Turkoglu??? Why should he be untouchable?
