The Spurs' need someone to knock down open jumpers off of Duncan's double teams, and I don't have confidence that Kidd can do that consistently. Parker will be a year older next year, and seeing the improvements he made this year, hopefully he will be more consistent and adept at the point in '03-04. Plus, when Parker does have an off night (ex. game 5 and 6 of the finals), Speedy can come in and play as well or better. That's why I would like to see the Spurs' get Jermaine O'Neal, but the speculation is that he can get a 7-year deal with the Pacers, and he can't in S.A...but he should consider that Texas doesn't have a state income tax. Ya'll may disagree, but from following the Spurs over the past few seasons, it seems that a point guard is the least of their concerns.
It would be the sweetest thing if the Spurs could trade (or sign and trade Kidd or someone) for Shareef Abdur-Rahim (Atlanta could use a point guard), and Reef would be a power inside, that could also knock down outside jumpers (35% 3pts) ahhh only in my dreams though
