personally, i like the name... more than Flight... which sounded like a name for a WNBA team... and Dragons... which would've looked pretty tacky... i reckon they'll come up with a cool Cat logo...

also... it's been confirmed they'll have orange unis...

Bobcats is probably the best name of the three. Since I can't think of any alternatives, I'll have to say I like the name. :wink:

Bobcats? :? ..that sounds like the name of some oldschool team from the 1960's. Seriously...naming teams after animals is old..and thats a bad choice. Orange uniforms?..how will that look good?..last thing i wanna see are bright colored uniforms like it was a highschool team.

On the other hand..."Flight" sounds like a good name. It sounds kinda newage and steamlined...the "Flights!"...i think dunking when i say that word. They could have gone with some silver and green uniforms (like me site :D ) or something.

I agree with tony though....Dragons would also be very tacky...but less so than bobcats imo.

I don't really like that name either, and the others are average too.
The orange jerseys are different from anything else in the NBA, I guess it depends on what kind of orange they'll use and what colour they'll combine it with... I thought they would stick with the traditional blue and white. Maybe blue and orange wouldn't be too bad :lol:

here's a name, the Charlotte Spandex... as in Spanded = Expansion :D Yes lame, I know!

so are they going to change the affiliated WNBA Charlotte Sting name? It is pretty stupid having the sting and bobcats? maybe the claws and bobcats? hehehe... Bobcats.. what a stupid name... definition: common American feral brown small cats (Lynx)... so the name of the team inspires visions of a small and feral team!!! :roll:

I agree with Rens, it's not quite like the other NBA logos. It looks old fashioned, "traditional" - but that's not a bad thing.

yeah you can bet your ass that when Shaq catches on they'll be the pussies, the Bulls will be the Cows, and the Spurs will become the Sparks or something...

I think the logo is ok, but yeah it has that old school flavour to it... maybe if it was a bit more three dimensional?

I've been out of the loop for a bit, so I just noticed the whole "Bobcats" thing.
If anyone else remembers, there was a CBA team with the same name (just before Isaah Thomas destroyed the league!). It was the La Crosse Bobcats out of La Crosse, Wisconsin, which were previously the Chicago Rockers, I believe, before they moved the team.
So, there's a bit of trivia that no one really wanted!

A Bobcat is a little excavator, why would you name a team after digging vechile! The logo is very much like Ohio Uni Bobcats logo IMO.
