in 1997 pistons traded otis thorpe to memphis for this years 1st round pick and if memphis can get 1st pick (lebron) then pistons wont get it! they can only get 2-13 pick.

yeah,i guess the Grizzlies thought they would be a better team 6 years later,and this draft pick wouldn't be that important...ouch ;)

nbadraft.net has the pistons drafting a 17 year old player from poland named Maciej Lampe , the other week it was chris kaman so i think they are going to draft big.

Just to look at the other possibility, if Memphis did manage to get the top pick, it would be interesting to see what they'd do with it. They don't really need LeBron James (though he wouldn't hurt)...it would be a pretty good trade commodity for the Grizz to hold.

not only do the pistons get a good 2-13 pick we also have I think "not for sure witch team" But we have someones mid 1st pick plus our witch will be pretty late but thats 3 picks in the 1st round.

And by the way there playing we need em.

wow a trade for 6 years in advanced... that takes some guts to get, plus for othis thorpe... even then he was getting old and bad!!

Reminds me of Don Nelson's quip when he was with the Warriors back in 1994. After trading Ed Nealy for a first round pick in 2001, Nelson commented "I think we'll go big."
