LeBron is doing everything he can to win games by posting career high numbers but his team is not contributing like they used to.
They've become more reliant on LeBron's presence.
For example: When the Cavs played the Celtics earlier this season, pretty much everyone contributed, James, Gooden and Ilgauskas out scored the Celtics 'Big 3' by ten points, their bench were playing very well and their defence was very good.
Yesterday the Cavs played @ Knicks and their defence was appalling. Sure LeBron scored 32 but they didn't play well as a team and they were making costly mistakes.
They better improve to become dominant in the East and try and be successful in retaining the Eastern Conference Crown.

I think they'll be alright. LeBron played a foolish "MVP Card" by letting his team go 0-6 without him, when he could've actually played at least 3 of those games already.
The Cavs really have a sucky team to begin with.
Anyway, I'm still a Cavs/LBJ fan.

What's wrong with the Cavs?
A lack of talent and an obsessive reliance on a superstar.

to be honest, the only thing that is wrong with the cavs is the fact that they played WAY beyond thier level last season which gave people very unrealistic expectations for them this season.

yup...just a lack of effort...but they'll be fine...as soon as they realize they're way better than the way they're playing right now...

what's wrong with the Cavs? they won me $525 today, so nothing wrong with them

Thats great news, X .
Bron is really carrying the load of the Cavs on his shoulders. He deserves some more backup of the bench. Since one man can't do everything himself. Hopefully they can step it up and pray Lebron doesn't get seriously injured.

Larry Hughes is just a waste of money. That game when he returned from injury and score like 36 was a one-of thing.
He can't shoot to save his life. IMO

what's wrong?
it just shows u need more than 1 superstar to be a contender. pple could say whatever they want about the rest of the team; good or bad. none of those guys are proven superstar or allstars. gooden, hughes, Big Z, varejo, pavlovic..... theyre all good players but its jut not enough to be playing consistent basketball. i think everyone can agree that none of these guys are consistent.
what they need to do is clear up some cap space, either look for a trade or test the FA market. maybe webber? or is he too old haha

the system doesn't suit Larry Hughes....if he was still in Washington, he'd be averaging around 20ppg....he'd be better back there or with the Warriors or a more uptempo team....

Yeah that's true.

I was shocked the Cavs made it to the Finals last year. They do a great job on defense, but I agree with pretty much everyone here, a huge reliance on a superstar to do everything. I think what they really lack sorely is on the offensive end.
Sat Dec 22, 2007 5:26 pm
Well... Hughes would average 20 PPG in 50 games per season...
I doubt the Cavs will fall out of the playoff picture. I think they will lose to Boston or Detroit in the second round, but they won't have a bad season.
I'm not too surprised by this lack of success though. They were a bit lucky getting in. The East was weaker than ever, their first 2 match ups were against Washington (who didn't have their 2 best players) and New Jersey... And then Detroit just played terrible.
Sat Dec 22, 2007 5:31 pm
they stopped defending.

Matt nailed it. Thread over.
Most of their success last season was because of their defense.
