Kelenna Azubuike

Fri Nov 09, 2007 6:25 pm

Who right? I didnt even know this guy was in the league. Since the warriors traded Jrich he has stepped in and brought it. Dudes shooting 54% FG and 41% from downtown. He is averaging 17 a game and has game highes of 33 vs clippers and 27 tonight vs the mavs. Seriously, he looks like a player who can win most improved this season. Keep an eye on him.

Azubuike is the shiznit. Anybody who didn't know about him last year was sleeping. Though his averages weren't overly impressive, he had some pretty nice games last year, and if you were lucky enough to watch the Warriors in any game that he got significant PT, you'd have seen a player who definitely has the skills and athleticism to excel in the NBA. His play this season is not a shock to me. He's the main reason why Belinelli is going to be sitting on the end of the bench all season. Definite candidate for MIP.

Fri Nov 09, 2007 6:34 pm

Definite candidate? For me, he already wins it. Clearly, there is no competition.

Dude, we're hardly a week into the season. There's still a lot of time for other guys to step up their play, and for Azubuike to slow down or suffer a season ending injury. There's a reason why they don't hand out the hardware until the end of the season.

That dunk put-back was sick. He has a nice shot and real hops as well.

Me and asdf have known Azu for a while now. His style of play gives asdf a boner.

anyone who follows college basketball knew of his talent & why he went undrafted....I'm not surprised by him at all, except his rise was a bit quicker than expected....

Sat Nov 10, 2007 3:07 am

anyone who followed the Warriors last season also knew him.....he's the reason Warriors pulled the deal for J Wright

Sat Nov 10, 2007 3:52 am

If only there was some kind of method to evaluate such "unknowns".

agreed...

i saw him when he came to play my college a couple years back, he's fo real...i still wanted to see Belinelli play tho, he seemed sick in preseason

Last year, when I was all over the Warriors, and no one believed me, I routinely cited Kelenna Azubuike as one of the reasons why they were the deepest team in the league.

I still think they are the deepest team. They just could use maybe one more dominant player.

I think I'd take the Raptors top 12 over the Warriors top 12. Golden State has a lot of swingman depth, but very little big man and point guard depth.

I will throw my hat in to the ring as another person who will make fun of Young Buck for not knowing about him last year.

Sat Nov 10, 2007 6:15 am

this guy is impressive. i wana know why he went undrafted

Sat Nov 10, 2007 6:20 am

Saw his name, when he led the D-League in scoring..

Yeah, whoever didn't know about Kelenna Azubuike before should rot and die. The man is going to save the NBA.

I touch myself when I hear that sexy name of his.

Sat Nov 10, 2007 7:04 am

I remember the dude when he was in college, but kind of forgot him afterwards (probably cause he was undrafted). I think I remembered him more for his unique name rather than his style of play. Regardless, good to see him playing well at Golden State.

Sat Nov 10, 2007 7:29 am

Well i cant watch nba games a lot, so i dont get to see everyone play. I also dont watch college basketball, so i wouldnt know him from there.

Sat Nov 10, 2007 8:18 am

Kelena is the man! Hope to see him as a future NBA Superstar!

Sat Nov 10, 2007 9:22 am

yeah he was doing well last year too. I really hope he starts sucking soon (maybe when Jackson comes back?) or else I'll be a fool for dropping him in the fantasy league.

Man, how do you think I'm feeling about dropping Damien Wilkins? Oh well, at least I just grabbed Antoine Wright off waivers.

Sat Nov 10, 2007 9:43 am

Damnit... and the Rockets released him last year.. :x Good to hear that he's doing great though (Y). Now if only Luther Head can improve like that...

that would be why you didn't know him....all college supporters know him as the guy who went to Kentucky & had immense talent but bolted too early & went undrafted....good to see he's doing well though
