Magic sweeps Cavs in China

Sun Oct 21, 2007 7:00 pm

Woah, magic won 2 straight against the cavs in china. Is is stan van gundy or the team?

Perhaps a bit of both, but the Cavaliers giving more than ample time to their second unit and players who are trying to win a roster spot probably had something to do with it. It's still the pre-season, after all.

The final 5 minutes of the first game saw the Cavs throwing Dwayne Jones and somebody Tolliver at Dwight Howard with Ira Newble, Shannon Brown and Damon Jones also on the court.

The Cavs led most of the game prior to this, but Dwight Howard just steamrollered through them to finish the game.

Mike Brown was content to allow his reserves to play out the final stages of the game, whereas Stan Van Gundy kept his starters in.

So I think we can categorically say that....

Just as you said, It's obvious the Cavaliers can never beat the Magic.

did anyone else notice that Dwight Howard has actual moves that don't end in a dunk? They are pretty effective too!

The Magic had much better spacing and movement than under Brian Hill.

I think it's because of Patrick Ewing teaching Dwight. (I think I saw Ewing in the Magic bench)

I think it's Van Gundy and Howard

I am really excited about Dwight Howard. I keep thinking about him being on the Bobcats instead of Okafor. Too many dynasty ideas spinning around in my head.

I noticed it. I realise I'm hardly making a bold prediction or profound statement here but Dwight Howard is going to become quite a player over the next few seasons. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke the 20 and 10 barrier this season with 20 something and around 12 boards a game, with a couple of blocks and assists thrown in for good measure. His numbers are already getting up around the level of Kevin Garnett in his third season, though KG was also getting close to a couple of steals and over four assists per game as well.

Did anyone else find Adonal Foyle getting offensive minded oddly entertaining?
