Champion:Boston (Garnett Finals MVP)
East:Boston
West:Houston
MVP:Tracy McGrady
Rookie of the Year:Kevin Durant
Most Improved Player:Rajon Rondo
Defensive Player: Marcus Camby

for example

Thu Oct 11, 2007 5:57 am

Ronnie Brewer will show why he was a lottery pick in '06

:headbang: Preach it, brother.

LaMarcus Aldridge will average close to 20/10

I wouldn't underestimate contributions from Frye/Pryzbilla this year. I think this season is a make or break for both of them this year. Don't forget about Josh McRoberts, either.

Thu Oct 11, 2007 10:48 am

Champion: Boston. Too good a big 3. I'm hoping for Houston, but if only they can get past the first round...
East: Boston. See above.
West: Pheonix. Nash and Amare can surely propel their team this year.
MVP: Nash. Sorry, Dirk fans.
ROY: Undecided.
Most Improved: Darko! Well, maybe.
DPOY: Camby. Growing old, but still a great blocker and overall defender.

"Close" to 20/10 sound a bit wrong. Does 17/8 count as close to 20/10? If so, I'll stick with it.

Anyway Ronnie Brewer just had the best play of the preseason. Caught the ball in stride, spin move, jumps straight up for a pretty viscious (sp?) jam. I wanted this kid or Rodney Carney over Thabo in '06, but history is history. I love Thabo anyway. :P

Thu Oct 11, 2007 12:21 pm

Champion: Boston Celtics obvsiously
East: Boston. See above.
West: Minnesota Timberwolves. you heard it here first
MVP: KG obviosuly
ROY: Corey Brewer
Most Improved: Randy Foye or Craig Smith
DPOY: KG he deserves it more

Thu Oct 11, 2007 12:54 pm

Champion: San Antonio Spurs
East: Boston Celtics
West: San Antonio Spurs
MVP: Kevin Garnett
ROY: Kevin Durant (wanted to put Juan Carlos Navvaro)
Most Improved: Lemarcus Aldridge
DPOY: Shawn Marion
Sixth Man: Leandro Barbosa
COY: Phil Jackson (I'm wishing...)

Other Predictions:

- The Miami Heat won't make the playoffs.
- Boston will beat Detroit in 7 games in the Eastern Conference Finals
- The Lakers will make the second round of the playoffs and then get knocked out
- Darko Milicic and Sebastian Telfair are going to have good seasons
- Kwame Brown will be the Lakers' starting centre and will play good
- Andrew Bogut will have a 'breakout' season... averaging 18-20 ppg, 10 rpg, 4 apg...
- Yi Jianlian, Bogut and Charlie V will be the Bucks' starting frontcourt by All-Star Weekend
- New York will just miss the playoffs and Stephon Marbury will become a Mormon... Allan Houston will play well for the Knicks
- Andre Miller is going to have a season like the one he had in 01-02 where he averaged 16.5 ppg and 10.9 apg
- AI and Melo will pick up where they left off last season.

Playoff Standings:

Bringing the Nuggets to their knees?
3. Denver Nuggets

Ohh...you're one of those people.

Thu Oct 11, 2007 1:00 pm

They had a good run at the end of the season then got owned in the first round. But I think they could surprise a few people. Not pinning my hopes on them to finish 3rd but that's what's fun with predictions. I think that they have what it takes to win their division as I am thinking that Utah will stumble a bit,

Thu Oct 11, 2007 2:31 pm

Champion: Lakers
East: Celtics or Pistons
West: Lakers
MVP: Garnett or Lebron(I'd really love for KG to win another one)
ROY: Kevin Durant
MIP: Luol Deng(he will be a superstar this year)
DPOY: Kobe
6th man: Barbosa
COY: Brian Hill

Playoff Standings
West
1. Mavericks
2. Spurs
3. Jazz
4. Lakers
5. Suns
6. Rockets
7. Warriors
8. Nuggets

East
1. Celtics
2. Pistons
3. Bulls
4. Magic
5. Cavs
6. Raptors
7. Nets
8. Knicks

-Heat will miss the playoffs
-A healthy Lakers squad if Bynum averages 14/10 and if Radmanovic is that shooter he got him for, then the Lakers will go as far as being a 3rd seed. The Suns on the other hand are aging in mileage and real age. Stoudemire had another surgery, Nash will slow down, and they have a disgrunted Marion.

Thu Oct 11, 2007 3:11 pm

Champion: Jazz
East: Bulls
West: Jazz
MVP: Nash
ROY: Horford
MIP: Bogut
DPOY: Camby
6th man: David Lee
COY: Larry K

Random Predictions:
-Bucks finish 5th in the East
-Bogut averages 17/10/3.5/0.5/1
-Bucks get at least one all star
-4 teams from the central division make playoffs
-Cavs are in 6-8th spot in the East
-Lakers miss playoffs
-Heat miss playoffs and Shaq is injured for most of the year
-Rashard Lewis fails to live up to expectations in Orlando
-Phoneix make conference finals, with Hill/Nash/Matrix/Stoudemire playing well.
-New Jersey surprises in the East.

Thu Oct 11, 2007 3:19 pm

I wonder how many people would be willing to make ban bets over these predictions.
Champion: Jazz

That Lamar Odom trade didn't happen.

East Champion: Boston Celtics
West Champion: Dallas Mavericks
MVP: Dirk Nowitzki

Almost everyone is riding the Boston bandwagon. IMO, they won't be champs this year but they I am pretty sure that they will have a good run for the title.

ROY: Kevin Durant (by a landslide)
MIP: Luol Deng maybe LaMarcus Aldridge
DPOY: Kevin Garnett
6th man: Leandro Barbosa (again)
